I give up with this country. I'm an ex soldier having served in ireland and irag among other places and proudly wore the uniform with union jack on my sleeve. I was spat at and verbally abused on many occasions in ireland but done my job regardless. In iraq we were supposed to get 2 weeks to acclimatise to the weather but got 2 days before we were out on operations and some of us dropping like flies due to heat exhaustion. We were ill equipped having to share body armour between 3. The people high up let us down badly on more than one occasion and moral took a beating. I often wondered what the fuck am I doing here fight for a country that don't appreciate my efforts and can't even equip me with basic kit for me to do my job.

But you read about the support the rangers family show towards the troops serving and fighting wars we shouldn't be involved in and its a much needed moral boost. The support we show is by far the biggest support and I wonder why we are the only ones willing to do this.

Our troops are under paid and under appreciated yet were getting told off for doing something every club in Britain should be doing. The reply to that awful letter shows how far out of touch these guys are from the troops on the ground.

Maybe it was a bit ott but as a club its our choice how we remember the fallen and support the serving. We seem to be the only club in scotland that proper give a dam. This shit fucking annoys the hell out of me.

There was a minutes silence so what's the problem?

The troops being invited is a sign of thanks to those serving Queen and Country on a day that honours our troops fallen and in service

Do they need to be morass for the whole day?

Honestly this Jobs Worth self opinion driven society sickens me

I totally agree with it. I said so on here at the time. Rememberance Day is about paying tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. A minutes silence is far more appropriate than having soldiers abseil down the front of the govan stand.

So this type of bias propaganda is ok then? Completely agreeable and understandable is it?

Some of you are too busy jumping in to agree with the opinion we may have went OTT with our tribute to see the real point here. It's disgusting our club is being treated like this in the public media.

Final thought - does Orangeism not have some religious status? It's attached in some way to the CoS, unless I'm wrong (by no means an expert)? Because if you wrote about the poisonous ideology of Judaism or the poisonous ideology of Catholicism you would be done under hate laws.

Instead of looking for some way to blame what is an unambiguous kick in the balls from the British state on the SNP, someone should be making an appointment with a solicitor with a view to raising a civil action under the SNP anti-discrimination laws.

Now that would be ironic.

Even if you feel that way, you can't take the decision based on the opinions aired in the letter, surely? It's about as gross a misrepresentation of Rangers and Rangers fans as I have ever seen!

Sorry lads, I can see the point they're making. I think it's a great idea at any other time of the year to celebrate the homecoming Of a Particular regiment or ship. Rememberance weekend though is a time for quiet reflection to remember and honour all those brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifce.

Will the greatest respect to you that is absolute bollocks, the whole of the UK is slowly but surely turning into a large episode of fawlty towers were you are not allowed to mention the wars, yes stand in silence as someone reads a poem or whatever but what ever you do dont mention the war, fuck that it is about victory in 2 world wars and conflicts al over the world that protects us as british citizens remembering those who didnt make it home with pride, whats next the outlawing of the march past in london because it is too jovial

Thats why several clubs up and down the country give tickets to serving soldiers completely free of charge?

Only one way to deal with these vile heinous cunts and it isn't words ! :sherlock:

This country is so fucked up I fear that only a coup of some sort would enable us to get back to normal life. You know, the sort of life where cunts aren't walking around with a huge chip on the shoulder of their cotton wool suits.

Handing out a few free tickets hardly equates to a magnificent public "Thank You" from a crowd of 50000, does it?

Some of your opinions are bizarre to say the least.

Some might say they were the opinions of a wrong'un.

Bet his father's turning in his grave at the thought of the snivelling pathetic sad cunt his son turned out to be and has nothing better to do with his time than obsess over his rivals.

I wouldn't consider myself Orange or Protestant and I thought the rememberance day tribute was brilliant. That's his sectarian arguement out the window.

This is the only way, debating and moaning on forums does fuck all, these people are on a mission to destroy us and they are not going to stop unless WE stop them ! :sherlock:

What difference does the size of the crowd make? Its not about the size of ANY event to honour our troops but simply the sentiment behind it. If a small club like Alloa can go out of their way to give away free tickets to servicemen then that is a fantastic thing imo.

Some of my opinions are bizarre? Oh well, what a pity. Imagine someone having a different opinion.

A wrong 'un. Course. Is this your new way of calling people a taig without actually calling them it? Just plant the seed with your suggestion.

I'm sorry mate but basing my politics on football stuff just seems daft to me.

Party politics in general seem daft to me Andy.

Let's not get distracted by politics - the problem is some nutjob being taken seriously by what seems to be his opposite number in the army.

After stewing this over I think the question has to be asked of Eeles what he saw in the Ibrox displays that agreed with the poisonous ideology of Orangeism. He must be brought to account for his decision, although accountability is not what top brass specialise in, be it politics or armies.

I agree wholeheartedly with you here. Unfortunately the Kirk is full of businessmen who just use it as a networking tool & have no real interest in either religion, or protecting their culture from outside attack. There's absolutely no chance of them asking for answers here. From what my friends who are in the OO tell me, their leadership is much the same.

Any seeds planted here are due to your opinions, not my suggestions.

Is it not more about giving life long Rangers supporters the chance to walk across Ibrox in front of 50,000 fans as a thank you for the job they do.

I know I'd rather have that than getting into the game for free.
