Kenny Miller heading back to Scotland

Recommended Posts

Miller and Boyd make sense if the cost is affordable. Unfortunately it also further evidences the uncomfortable fact that Ally McCoist has a default position that looks to the past rather than the future. A sign of a good manager is the ability to unearth and develop the talent of the future.

More evidence of that is the fact he didn't once look to try out a partnership of Gallagher and Clark to see if they had what it takes for next season.

The immobile Daly played every single game regardless of form or pace or movement.

Things like that prove just how poor a manager he really is.

There are plenty of players who can offer more than Kenny Miller for a few grand a week...one is at our club and is called Nicky Clark....

But aye lets just let him rot on the bench as we bring in a guy who is long past his best, Pace is gone, engine is shot now and has no sell on value.

Only at Rangers.

Is Nicky Clark good enough to carry responsibility of leading the line at Rangers for an entire season and score minimum of 10-15 goals at a level of football he has never been tested at before?

As for KM's pace etc how many MLS games have you seen him play to make that kind of assessment?

Next season promotion is worth Millions and if we have to bring in a short term fix then so be it.

I just typed "McCoist signs Miller" into google to see what the chat was and the Rhebel was boldly stating that Miller has signed for us.

Is this actually true or more BS from a rhag?

There is no doubting anymore from the vast majority that McCoist is a very poor manager.

His signings and supposed targets reek of desperation and there has been very little effort to build for the future in these 3 seasons.

Apparently the sun are going with the story today as well. Miller denied any contact on BBC yesterday though, instead touting himself for another crack at England or a move to Europe. No doubt when neither materialises he'll be battering down McCoist's door for the contract we all know he'll get.

I hope this is just nonsense. If McCoist's also talking about signing Boyd too, what was the point in taking Nicky Clarke from QotS then never playing him?

Exactly.

I doubt the people who are posting for Miller have actually seen him play lately...

He doesnt have pace anymore and he is fucked by the 60 minute mark...it's almost as if they think they are getting a Kenny Miller from 2008

Surely we didn't sing Jnr because Sandy's a pal?

Surely not?

Actually sickened to see Rangers supporters 'happy' about the possibile signing of a 34/35 year old who's only asset is now gone.

Same old Rangers, always looking into the past and fuck the future.

We bring it all on ourselves and always have done.

You're going to have egg on your face if Miller signs. He will run riot in the Championship.

We're in a game of improvement, year-by-year, and Kenny Miller improves our squad. It's that simple, that's the reality.

If you're expecting an inspirational signing, then you're in for a disappointing summer.

EDIT Also, stop suggesting that he's past it and has lost his pace. It's nonsense.

Is there not even one single player out their who could do a similar job to Miller, for similar wages and is still young enough that we could at recoup our money back at a later date?

Somewhere, yes, and if we had any sort of structure within our club, we would probably take advantage of that player.

We aren't, though. We're an absolute riot, from top-to-bottom.

Our boardroom is filled with schmuks, our management team is incapable and there as a result of a 'Jobs for the Boys' policy while our first team squad is second rate. Our pre-season was spent at the top of Scotland on an invite from a businessman who happens to support us, for fuck's sake.

Eddie Howe? Billy MacKay? Some people need a reality check if they think we can compete.

We would be fortunate to sign Miller and Boyd in our current state. They would significantly improve our squad.

We had a structure within the club until Whyte tookover, nonetheless we still operated under the "go with what you know" attitude with regards to signings.

Barring Cuellar, Boogie and Jelavic, can you think of one signing that was inspired in any way. I can't.

And that is with a structure.

My fear is that what we are seeing is not a consequence of lack of scouting, but a consequence of a return (or the continuation) of old habits.

No I won't.

Miller is well past it and you are another one who must not have seen his recent outings if you think he still has that pace and engine

Run riot in the championship

Behave.

There is absolutely no need for a striker we've signed twice already coming back close to the age of 35, even if he could have a good season in the championship Daly will probably do just as well and i'm no fan of him either.
