KingKirk 26,492
He would say that TBF
The Dude 20,027
He would say that TBFTrue, although you'd probably need to have your head looked at to want the job just now.
G.E.C. 19,594
He was a failure in the end.Time to move on.
The Dude 20,027
He was a failure in the end.Time to move on.I agree. I wasn't really a fan to start with and certainly wasn't at the end.
the goal machine 7,990
I'm sure he does but if this last couple of months was effectively his audition for the job, he's failed it. Thanks Stuart for trying but it's not enough.
Ibrox_Nights 429
Improved the team, which, lets face it, wouldn't have been too difficult to achieve.Think there is a genuine possibility he is appointed manager for next year on a one year deal. G.E.C. 19,594
Would anyone have him as a first team coach/assistant manager?
Ibrox_Nights 429
Would anyone have him as a first team coach/assistant manager? Think it might be a role he's perfectly suited for. That would probably allow him to continue in the Scotland set-up which he's obviously keen to do.
BridgeIsBlue 66,816
Would anyone have him as a first team coach/assistant manager? Can't imagine him being assistant to somebody at Ibrox after having the top job himself.
TMB 14,167
McCall isn't good enough. We need a quality manager in. It should be the absolute top priority for Dave King.
Albertz_11 26
Billy Davies!!!
Sweetheart 8,458
I'd like to see him stay on a one year contract and a DoF dealing with plans for top tier and European football
Ozblue 4,332
He was going well until he came away with this comment....."Look at Alan Stubbs, who has built a fantastic team at Hibs"Errrr! Naw he hasn't,Stuart, they are fucking shite and couldn't beat us over two legs. If Hibs are a "fantastic team" then every team in Europe must be shitting themselves at the thought of coming up against the bheasts from the East in the CL who strolled the premier league. ThatNightInFlorence 696
I would have found it hard not to give him a 2 year deal if we had qualified but now I think we should move on.McCall is a better manager than McCoist but that wouldn't be hard. Get Warburton and Weir in on a 3 year deal and start building a squad that can compete in the premier league now.
TheCutch 4,340
The next appointment of manager is as important as any in our history. This one needs to be done properly, and needs to be someone with the proper credentials and be exciting enough to tempt back the stay-away fans.Stuart McCall does not fit the bill imo.I like the wee man, but this is not your time I'm afraid mate. crazy bob swollenbaws 1,927
No way should mccall get the job. Not for failing to get up promoted however. I can live with that. The reasons are:1. Continuing to have boyd on the bench2. Playing boyd from the start yeserday after the "SOS"3. Allowing a return to the long ball of mccoist4. Continual return to a four four two that keeps faining and we dont have the players for.

Creampuff 22,630
Whilst I don't think he'd necessarily be a bad appointment, I also don't think he's a particularly inspiring one.We need an inspiring one.
A Gallant Pioneer 555
Embarrassing. That's a brass neck. He was morphing into Ally with every passing week so much so that he ended up even worse than him.
Bigsasasfloppyhair 13,310
Embarrassing. That's a brass neck. He was morphing into Ally with every passing week so much so that he ended up even worse than him. What a ridiculous thing to say, he ended up worse than mccoist. You can only pee with the cock you have, mccall inherited mccoists awful squad of pals and misfits and had to deal with it.If it had not been for McCall we would never have seen the playoffs let alone had a chance to go up through them. If your pointing the finger look at the guy who made such bold decisions such as to overlook Scott Allan and give Kyle Hutton a contract ffs!!!! Turnberry18 3,204
I don't think we should appoint Stuart; his record here is not very good. The game against Falkirk said a lot. In retrospect, we were naive against Motherwell, and played right into their hands. Motherwell are okay, but they were beatable with that defence. Gaz52 11,837
I don't think he was a complete disaster and I'd be happy-ish with him having the job full-time but I do want someone fresh in.
CoplandStandBear 995
Thanks but no thanks, sling your hook. Knowing us we'll commission a painting of him.
YorkshireBear 222
Very mixed feelings on this, failed at the end, but with the team we had i think anyone would have. He effectivley build that team who destroyed us (at least their main players). I think given his own time and chance he may do ok, but only ok, don't think he would be one of our greats.
