Tbf, he must have something to offer if he had six championship teams on his tail. He is a much better player than Miller, if he was coming into replace Miller I wouldn't complain. He would walk straight into the team, his pace may not be there but he has other aspects to the game as well, he has a very good shot on him, good with the ball at his feet and can pass it. If he improves the team, can't argue with that!

Are people on drugs saying he's shite?

The guy is a quality player and would be a great addition for one or two seasons. We need a player like him.

He's always hungry and can change a game in a heartbeat

I think most of the people that are saying he's shite are more concerned about his religion and what team he "supported".

He's probably past his best now but if he trains with us and MW deems him worthy of a deal on the basis of his performances there then I'll trust his judgement 100%.

The manager hasn't got a lot wrong so far and I doubt he's the type to just hand out deals to veterans in a similar manner to what we've done over the past decade so there's no point writing Nolan off or declaring it a bad signing before he's even kicked a ball for us in a game or in a training environment.

Or maybe Bears just don't want to buy someone who doesn't add value or is needed.

How many times has MW said that adding value isn't purely about adding financial value?

Do you genuinely not see why he might think a good professional with over 500 career appearances and proven leadership skills might add value to a team with an average age of 22 and a squad that probably doesn't have an average age a lot higher than that.

Pretty sure guys like Sir Davie Weir, Miller and Wallace can provide that kind of help to the young guys coming up. Do we need him to win the league? No! Is he going to be good enough when we are going for 55? No! As someone else said the days of wasting money on players adding little or no value are gone. Having this guy in the team is stopping someone else getting a chance which will have a better chance of adding something to the club in the long term. This is one of the mistakes McCoist made and was roundly criticised correctly by the support. Fuck all to do with his personal hygiene!
