cushynumber 25,178
fuck all to do with his allegiances: i think he is finished at 33 as an attacking midfielder and we would just be topping up his pension. Where is the "value" in that?
buster. 1,114
The type of signing we'd have gone for years ago, James Beattie comes to mind. We'd give them a generous contract despite the injury history and they'd predictably see more of the treatment room than the pitch. No thank's ! VladimirWeiss69 802
Tbf, he must have something to offer if he had six championship teams on his tail. He is a much better player than Miller, if he was coming into replace Miller I wouldn't complain. He would walk straight into the team, his pace may not be there but he has other aspects to the game as well, he has a very good shot on him, good with the ball at his feet and can pass it. If he improves the team, can't argue with that!

BlueSuedeSambas 53,816
He's probably past his best now but if he trains with us and MW deems him worthy of a deal on the basis of his performances there then I'll trust his judgement 100%.The manager hasn't got a lot wrong so far and I doubt he's the type to just hand out deals to veterans in a similar manner to what we've done over the past decade so there's no point writing Nolan off or declaring it a bad signing before he's even kicked a ball for us in a game or in a training environment. Do we need him to win the league? No! Is he going to be good enough when we are going for 55? No! As someone else said the days of wasting money on players adding little or no value are gone. Having this guy in the team is stopping someone else getting a chance which will have a better chance of adding something to the club in the long term. This is one of the mistakes McCoist made and was roundly criticised correctly by the support. Fuck all to do with his personal hygiene!
