The Rams are on the hunt for a new boss after sacking Paul Clement earlier this month.

Rangers gaffer Warburton is believed to be one of the names in the frame to succeed the ex-Real Madrid coach.

Rams owner Mel Morris axed Clement after just 33 games in charge.

The club were sitting just five points off top spot in the Championship but in the midst of a seven-game winless run.

Morris — also the club’s chairman — claimed he acted as the club were not playing football in the “Derby way”.

Rams’ Academy Director Darren Wassall was placed in temporary charge, initially until the end of the season.

But that hasn’t stopped the club from searching for the man they want on a permanent basis.

It is understood Derby have held a long-term interest in Warburton, dating back even to before his days at Brentford.

His attacking brand of football and formations would match Morris’ stated aims.

So too would his desire to develop and improve player performances.

Derby could keep Wassall in place until the summer, which would at least allow Warburton to continue in his quest to take Gers back to the top flight.

But Ibrox chiefs will again be fearing there could be a chance of losing their boss after Fulham’s interest earlier in the season.

"But Ibrox chiefs will again be fearing there could be a chance of losing their boss after Fulham’s interest earlier in the season."

Will they, aye?

Why would the Magic Hat want to leave to go back to the English Championship when he's built an exciting team, is on the verge of taking us back to the Premiership and in with a good chance of winning the Scottish Cup? Lot of unsubstantiated, speculative pish.

Our manager has the chance of European football (which he will not get in England until much later in his career), maybe next season & almost certainly the one after. It would take a huge sum of money to make him walk out of Ibrox.

There's also the fact that he wants to win stuff and he seems to have no trouble dealing with the pressure as he just sticks to the broken record "it's only about Rangers, train well, eat well, analyse, win then on to the next one".

Slightly off topic but when did the boss say this ?

"Mark Warburton: Ronny Deila’s shown me a lack of respect"

It's in my paper today also, I don't remember him saying any such thing at the presser posted on here, it's regarding the plastic pitch shite, did he say this elsewhere ?
