I'm guessing it's the taig propaganda machine they already have Tierney in the £10 million bracket after a handful of games while McKay barely gets a mention

Yup that's basically it

hopefully the bridge builders are aware of this and have plans to take back media influence

If he's as good as Wayama for example I'll be the first one demanding 10 million plus for him mate trust me

I've no idea how they get that sort of money further players and we struggle to break even on equally talented players of ours ala Cousin, Mendes etc

Cousin and Mendes were in their 30s when they left, we were never going to get a big transfer fee for them. Especially no Cousin.

I know but I think they had more value staying here for a bit longer than the prices we sold them for was all I meant

I'd rather we show our players value on the park rather than spew it to the media.

No one looking in would've known Holt was a 65k transfer. Yet his abiltiy clearly shows he's worth more, it's at that point bids come in at different ranges. If we say he's worth "1 million" then that's a benchmark being sent. People will send in 1 million offers as opposed to what they thought initially which could've been higher.

Reputedly on 10K a week with us.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-3589893/Jordan-Rossiter-earn-10-000-week-Rangers-signing-four-year-Ibrox-deal.html

Jordan Rossiter will net £10,000 a week at Ibrox after putting pen to paper on a four-year contract at Rangers.

The England Under-19 international arrived in Glasgow on Friday to complete the formalities of a move first revealed by Sportsmail.

A cross-border transfer, the move will cost the Ibrox club a sum in the region of £250,000. Had the Liverpool academy kid signed for another English club, the fee would have run into the millions.

Rangers' pair Barrie McKay and Lee Wallace in Scotland squad...Rangers boss Mark Warburton 'delighted' with Tottenham...Liverpool's Alberto Moreno is fired up for Europa League...Liverpool fans to be welcomed with 96 red seats at The...

Well known to Ibrox Head of Recruitment Frank McParland, the 19-year-old Scouser was a spectator in the Rangers end for the 2008 UEFA Cup Final in Manchester.

Rossiter told the club website: ‘I am made up to be here. It is a great club with a lot of history, you look at the likes of Rangers’ teams and players over the years and I am really looking forward to getting started.

‘I know Frank McParland from my Liverpool days and working with the academy with him and he is a great fella. I am looking forward to working with him again and getting started here.’

Udinese, Spurs and Arsenal were all credited with an interest in the player and Rangers regard the capture of the midfielder for a cut-price fee as a coup ahead of a tilt at the Premiership title next season.

‘Jordan is an outstanding young England youth international who will be an excellent addition to the Rangers squad,’ said manager Mark Warburton. ‘It is a pleasure to welcome him to the club.’

Rangers skipper Lee Wallace is the club’s highest earner on an estimated £12,000 a week.

With cash flow in the Premiership set to rise by £5million, however, Sportsmail understands the Rangers board have authorised a 40-per-cent increase to the wagebill to fund a challenge to champions Celtic – paving the way to land Rossiter.

Rossiter has been hailed by Rangers boss Mark Warburton as a player who can make a big influence at Ibrox

Compared by Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler to Steven Gerrard, the midfielder made five appearances for the first team and featured in the Europa League tie with Sion before first-team involvement dried up under Jurgen Klopp.

Now, he is determined to make an impression at Ibrox.

‘I have come from a massive club like Liverpool to another massive club like Rangers so it is a great feeling for me and an honour,’ Rossiter continued.

‘Frank McParland didn’t need to sell the club to me, it doesn’t need much selling. You look at Murray Park, which is a great training facility and then Ibrox.

'I walked into Ibrox and I was a bit taken aback by it.

‘I walked in and saw all the mahogany walls and it’s nice and old. You can tell it is a stadium with a lot of history and I’m sure there will be a lot more made there in the future.

‘Rangers is a massive club and I don’t think people realise down south how big a club it really is.

Warburton is delighted to get his hands on the 19-year-old ahead of a tilt at glory in the SPL next season

‘I think I have always known and so have my family and it is just a great opportunity to carry on learning my trade.

‘Rangers is a club which wins trophies and winning trophies would be brilliant, they have two already and are going for a third next week so it is a club that is always going to win things. Next season, hopefully, I can help with that.

‘I have played a few games in Europe but I am sure at a club like Rangers they already have experience of playing in the big competitions.

‘They have been in the Champions League and UEFA Cup Finals, it is a club with a great tradition in Europe and I am sure I can bring something to that.

‘I went to the final down in Manchester a few years ago which was unbelievable. Someone had a spare ticket and Liverpool only being 45 minutes from Manchester I went along and the fans were brilliant that day.

‘Going to that game and seeing them on telly I have seen what a brilliant set of fans they are and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of them.’

10k a week must be bullshit. we cant be throwing that kind of money around.

Fucking love how we go about our transfer business these days.

So what's the views on the lad? People think he will be in the starting 11 next season or a squad player to begin with? Competition for players in midfield. Halliday, Rossiter, Holt, Windass, Forrester, Crooks and possibly more signings.

I think the boy will have been signed to play with him already having been trusted enough to play in Europe for Liverpool. I checked one of their sites and they describe him as a player who works his ass off, is tidy on the ball, never loses possession, and passes well. He also scored in his first game for the first team. There was the odd one saying they didn't see what the fuss was about but most seemed to rate him. Not making it at Liverpool at that age, especially as central midfielder, means nothing if you look at the money and players available to them. I think this could be a snip as the boy will probably be good enough to play right away and will improve.

Still think we will need some more experienced players as well to win the league but can only see this being a good signing.

Quite a few of the players will already be on those type of wages.

We will sell a shit ton of season books this season, at a 20% minimum mark up on last season.  I reckon we will come close to selling out every game this season.  We might be in Europe next season.  We still have a few high earners on the books that could be shifted ( guys like Law).  We also barely spent a penny in transfer fees.  The less we spend on fees, the more we have for wages.

10 isn't a huge wage at Rangers.Especially with us being back in the top flight, and all the benefits that will come with it IE: better sponsorships, bugger TV monies, bigger prize money.

In short,  we can afford 10k per week IMO.

Know what I thinks funny, I somehow view holts transfer fee more of a bargain than a free transfer

Link?

Our highest paid player when we won 3IAR was McGregor on 16k a week. And as has been mentioned, Templeton, Law, Clark, Shiels are gone. Bell hopefully as well. I think you'd be very surprised at the wages they're on.

It might be near enough a wage swap with Templeton/Sheils/Law/Bell who wont be on buttons.

Nah, outta time to register players bud

Shame.  It would've been brilliant to see him play before the end of the season.  With ball and Zelalem gone we could've used him in that holding role.

From what I've heard the boy needs games anyways, a good pre-season and he'll be a stand out
