Yes this is what will happen after 1st of July. The guys are under contract still with Accrington until 30th June but after that point they are under contract with us and can train, they can only play if they are registered but I'm not sure if any tribunal/negotiations around the development fee will get in the way of that.

So the bottom line is their pettiness is taking away 2 weeks of training and gelling that these guys can have.

The process for calculating the compensation for u23s isn't straight forward hence why Rangers need information from Accrington Stanley.

Unfortunately for them they didn't rear these players, Huddersfield did.

Crooks was only there 17 months and Windass three years.

These training costs are only applicable until the age of 21 or once established as a first team player. (training complete)

Daily Record, "Windass says AS is petty"

Quote

RANGERS new boy Josh Windass last nigh branded Accrington Stanley PETTY for refusing him permission to train at Murray Park.

The Ibrox attacker is in Glasgow after agreeing a pre-contract agreement with the club in January along with ex-Stanley midfielder Matt Crooks.

But Accrington owner Andy Holt has blocked the pair of them from training with Mark Warburton’s side before June 30 - until a compensation fee has been agreed.

Rangers are due to pay the English League Two club under FIFA regulations because the players are under 23 and have made a cross-border switch.

The Ibrox club claim they’re waiting for paperwork for Accrington to complete the deal but Holt says Rangers are at fault.

It has left Windass and Crooks – who is currently injured – in limbo and the front-man has urged Holt to let them move on.

Windass told Mailsport: “I just think it’s a bit petty. It’s frustrating for me because it’s not like Accrington won’t get paid – they’ll get their money.

“It’s not harming Rangers or Accrington Stanley, it’s only harming myself and Crooksy.

“We helped get Accrington get to where they got to in the league last season. Everything we’ve ever done has been for the good of that club.

“So it’s just a bit petty from them.

“Crooksy is injured so he’s not doing anything anyway.

“But we went into Murray Park on Saturday morning, all the lads were training but obviously we weren’t.

“There’s not a lot we can do about it.”

Rangers are adamant they have done nothing wrong and are waiting on documents from Accrington which will conclude the transfer.

A club spokesperson said: “Rangers have always been willing to pay a compensation fee as determined by FIFA regulations.

“However, in order to confirm a figure Rangers needs Accrington Stanley to co-operate fully by providing some necessary detail.

“So far they have failed to provide this.”

But bitter Accrington chief Holt insists six months after Windass and Crooks signed the Bosman deals – they’re still waiting on Gers coughing up.

He said: “Until the compensation package is agreed they are our players so they shouldn’t be allowed to train with Rangers. We have them contracted until June 30.

“We’ve written to Rangers informing them of our position and have copied in the FA and SFA.

“They’ve got two great players for nothing so the least they can do is pay up properly and stop playing games.

“I believe they’re up in Glasgow. I have an email from Rangers requesting they train but I’m refusing permission until compensation is agreed.”

In January when the players agreed on the move to Ibrox, Holt was raging because they’d lost two prized assets to a Scottish club for a minimal fee.

Said he was "on the road to recovery" last month on the 5th. It's a ankle injury, picked it up in March.

I hope he can get a full pre-season in.
