A strange comment from Warburton in his post match interview when he says one of todays positives was 'Barrie McKay never hid at all'.

Not that he played well, that he showed good effort, but he never hid. Why would he fell the need to specifically mention this as a positive unless its something he has concerns over in McKays game? Perhaps we're seeing now why Mckay only got a one year extension to his contract last season.

The short extension was because that's what he wanted. We wanted him to sign a longer one.

Fuck off man one chance that goes just wide and all of a sudden the wee man is shite . It wasn't our day  but we will come back better and stronger

He's been shite during every competitive game we've played this season.  Why should he escape criticism?

Had a woeful first half..lost the ball nearly everytime he got it. A touch better in the second.

Like the majority of our team the day..not good enough.

Think the only things of note he did that I can remember was winning the ball down the wing and the back heel, he linked up nicely once with Wallace, and then the attempt on goal. I really rate him as a player but something is not right with him just now.

Total shitebag of a player and I can't remember being impressed by him since we played them in the semi final.

And see tbh I don't even remember if he was actually good in that game either or if my memory is clouded by the fact he scored a screamer against them.

He needs dropped ASAP. Him and  Wallace have been pish for a while.

He's been poor not shite. Because Wallace is being pinned/staying deeper it's stopping Barrie linking up so it's affecting his game

He's five games into his second proper season with us at any decent level... probably worth keeping in mind that unlike Barton and Krancjar Mckay has never played at a level even close to the SPL previously. Given time I still think he will go onto be a cracking player. I just hope we give him the time he needs at our club. Maybe a rest would do him no harm.

If one of the peados wingers had the chance he did in the 2nd half the ball would have been in the net.

I like Mckay as a player but not sure if he can do it week in week out at this level.

That's a bit harsh, that was his one chance in the game and he wasn't far off making it.

In saying that for,the rest of the game he was pish. He looks to have lost all the confidence he built up last year. I don't buy the whole "he's found his level" view point, I think he is more than capable of playing at this level and in Europe for us. The whole team isn't working hard enough (or seem to give a fuck). It needs a souness type character to grab the team by the scruff of the neck and dragging them with him. Wallace is another that deserves special mention for his performances this year and also his role as captain.

I think he has good qualities as a captain but when the shit hits the fan you need someone to get a reaction from the rest of the team and I don't get the feeling he is doing that....granted I watched on the tv so maybe those at the game can put me right if he was berating the rest of the team.

Empty jersey atm, MOH would have given them much more to think about.

Would prefer to see MOH start against county next week but suspect Waggy will get the nod wide right. MOH played left wing against Annan and look out of sorts as he's not an inside forward.

Said it many times already but players have to be dropped and earn their place back in the starting XI. For me of the starting XI only Fod, Tav, garner and Windass deserve to start against county.

Advocaat/Souness were ruthless , they knew their head was on the line. I don't see this quality in Warburton and its going to cost him.

I'm seeing everybody target Barton, niko etc

how he is getting off is beyond me

absolute shadow of the player he was last season

is warburton showing to much loyalty to certain players

Big time on all counts!

He has some decent dribbling skills, but that's it. He has been missing in action now for the first five league games. When he actually gets on to the ball, he slows the game down by holding onto it too long instead of the simple pass forward and move for a return. He doesn't have the mentality for it, far less his final ball is dreadful of late.

He needs benched for a long time until he gets it. I doubt he ever will and MW just doesn't see that he is one of the main problems in getting players to work his very own system.

Sadly I have to agree. I love what Warburton is trying to do but here failure isn't an option but it seems that the players have an "oh well, we are disappointed, we'll have an inquest and we'll learn from it" attitude as if losing 5-1 to anyone is acceptable never mind them. The manager just reinforces that attitude "we started well, looked comfortable, lots of the ball etc. etc."

I hated mccoists predictable starting line up and the same interviews over and over and Warburton is falling into that same trap. If he sticks with the majority of the starting XI from today it just proves that as you say he lacks the ruthless quality.

I think he has already made his mind up TBH and he will be off at the first offer from down south.

I'd have scoffed at that before today's game but seeing his body language after the match he looked rattled and maybe it's all becoming too much to handle. If you come through situations like this you grow as a person. It's getting to that stage where he needs to decide whether he wants this to work or not. It's not about making friends with the squad it's about getting results and as he says "sending the fans home happy".

He needs the ball IN the oppositions half and have alternatives things to do, today he got the ball In his own half with the forwards behind him, teams are pressing us and with the non pace of midfield and CHs accidents waiting to happen the wide men are more IN the defending 1/3 than the attacking, ITs the system not the playef but Barrie needs to work out how to produce from his own half, we should have played to out ball more often as  JG was having great success when we did and either won the ball or a freekick getting us up the park.
