Band of Brothers 10,303 Posted December 24, 2016 Share Posted December 24, 2016 I thought he started the season very well and thought he was one of the players who had taken the step up in leagues well but by fuck he has went into reverse and needs dropped as Hodson is much better defensive wise and also popped up with a goal also so I would stick with him until Tav can reproduce his form from start of the season. Spot on mate, he's not played well for a while and has to be dropped. The problem is, who takes his place as the rest of the midfielders are like the cast of Holby City - sick.. Instead he has went with Tav who imo is poor defensively at RB and definitely not a CM player. Maybe just maybe at a push RM of a flat 4 in midfield but even then ........? I don't think he is the only one Halliday is another who needs dropped I think they know they will always start so it shows in the way they play. As you say our midfield is pretty much all injured so DK has to step up and the way Gillingham spoke after the match the board are backing MW in January window so hopefully we get a Terry Hurlock type player and a big CH to take the pressure of Hill to be the one keeping the young lads defending properly. Scum up next week and we really need to be at our very best. The squad in general lack the technical ability, creativity and physicality, far less the mentality to be consistent week in week out. We've had a good run of results and I'm pretty certain we will finish second bar a disaster, but IMHO we cannot go much further with this group of players. This is all make do and makeshift. We need a squad with strength and depth. We just cannot expect this squad to steam roller teams. Even during our 4 match winning run he is obviously out of his depth and letting the side down. Wasteful in possession, positional awareness is terrible, and no composure in front of goal. One of the few players to get pass marks today. For those that say Tavs Isn't a midfielder he was one in his early days then was moved to RB. Tavs is adaptable.
