Why are we going down this road why pay 2men to do a one man job will DeBoer be keen on someone looking over his shoulder or are we going for a young manager where a DOF would be the type of move you would expect

Your paying one man to do his job and one man to do a different job, when you actually look at the different roles it's a wonder we haven't went down this road before.

Was John Park not in with a shout of DoF.

Didn't see him mentioned but when news first broke through Gerry Mcculoch that we were looking at Ross Wilson he said that John Park is involved in the new Rangers setup as he has "many admirers at Ibrox"

Surely they must have interviewed others?

It says in the article that they have.

"The Scottish Premiership club are understood to have held interviews with a number of candidates this week in London's Park Lane Hilton hotel."

If this is the route we're going to go down then this is excellent news. We need the DoF and manager in place as soon as possible so preparations can be made for next season and Europe. Fuck this giving a youth coach til the end of the season nonsense. The non-bams amongst us realise the situation, what needs to be done and how we can't afford to wait until then. I've drawn a line under this season already; just make sure we make Europe and anything in the cup is a bonus. What is absolutely key and an absolute priority is sorting out the behind-the-scenes shite so we're ideally placed to kick on come June.

He's meant to be good at what he does, I'm sure he was lumped in as ready for that step up to the top job.

Anyway mate as always we will just have to wait and see what the suits decide.

I know it doesn't carry much weight however Clyde ssb suggested today that the DOF will be someone the new manager has given his approval to...

Would surely only be the case if the manager was someone we were perhaps punching above our weight with at this moment in time.

If Wilson gets the job its pretty much a stick on Park comes in too. Both "very close" and Park tried to get Wilson to the tarriers before.

Should it not be the other way around, as technically the DoF is the head coaches boss.

It would be a very exciting start, just hope we can top it off with an exciting manager

Hopefully mate if he gets the job, of course on the plus side you could say he's young and could be with us for many a year.

That would be the ideal scenario. He seems to have crammed a lot in to his 34 years but is highly regarded.

This is a critical appointment, albeit 3 or 4 years later than it should have been. This has to be right and DoF should be the first and most considered appointment.

I'm encouraged by the reports from the youth sides and the work Mulholland and Murty appear to be doing. It should allow more focus by the DoF on first team recruitment, both in a coaching and playing sense.
