Thats a pile of shit. A wee look at his dads twitter page says he follows Celtic players but not one Rangers player.

Some Rangers man.

Even if he is, your hounding of a 15 year old child for attending a Celtic match  (which almost certainly never happened) more than a handful of times now over a few months is an embarrassment. Get a hold of yourself.

Who's hounding him. I've certainly not. But please show me where I have.

Good luck to Gilmorton and his family...I for one would encourage him to head to London, sad as it is - the goldfish bowl of Glasgow life/young up and coming football star would be horrible.

Enjoy your life wee man, get what you can and have as little regrets as possible.

You think London is any better?:duh:

In different ways its potentially far worse. Its not so much the location as social media these days (as this thread sadly demonstrates) theres no getting away from it now.

From a football development perspective a couple of years here with first team involvement will be far better for him long term. Its why Man United loaned players out to Preston etc. They learn about the harder side of the game and are more prepared for it as they progress.

I get the development agreement and no doubt Gilmour would be loaned out...I guess we could argue if he would develop better fir staying with us or with another loanee club.

My point is staying away from Glasgow would potentially give him the space to develop without 50,000 fans expecting miracles, the media waiting on his first poor game to brandish him a flop and the never ending pressure to live up to in this city.  Moving away may just be a good thing for the lad.

He won't get loaned by Chelsea to a club where he learns about the physical side of the game or where he plays in front of 50,000 every other week. Just looking at the conveyor belt that is Chelsea there is a very high chance of him disappearing without trace.

Has he even had a sniff of playing in our first team yet?

Just a snippet of some loanees at Chelsea

Traore was playing CL with Ajax

Hazard was playing CL football with BM

Abraham is playing in the Championship

Players on loan at Watford in EPL

Chelsea's youth set up has won back to back youth Champions league titles

He obviously won't get a chance in the first team there but the youth set up and opportunities to play at a better level than here on loan is so glaringly obvious plus earning significantly more money.

Look at their set up and achievements the youths have made to ours and look at where some of their loanees end up. You make it sound like a players graveyard but when you actually take the time to look at it it's anything but.....

So just to confirm what your suggesting then...Gilmour should stay with Rangers so he learns his trade in a league where he learns to tackle and learns to take a tackle.  Learns to bully players and to accept getting bullied...aye ok.  If this is all we can serious state as a positive or contributing factor on the young lad deciding where to play his football in the near future it really does make it a no brainer and further highlights one of the many problems within the Scottish game.

Take a look at where Chelsea youth players from 3 to 4 years ago are now. There are significantly better clubs to choose (Southampton, Tottenham, West Ham and Man United) if you are looking at the long term. In many ways Chelsea is a players graveyard in comparison to Man United or even Southampton (look at the players in tbe EPL and Championship with youth careers at each club and compare)

He has been training with the First team for some time now and Caixinha specifically went out of his way to speak to him and his parents. He has a decent chance of getting into the first team squad in the very near future. He has time on his side and has no need to move at 16.

Traore is 21

Hazard hasn't been at Chelsea since 2015.

Look at Feruz, McEachran etc and the list of academy graduates in 20+ years making the first team. Man United had 16 Academy graduates play for the first team in 2014/15 alone.

If he does go then history shows that Chelsea is not the best destination for his long term career.

Chelsea in the last 5 years revamped their youth set up to become one of Europes leading clubs in terms of facilities and set up. It's not an overnight thing.

The fact they are trouncing the other youth sides in the past few seasons in the CL shows how improved that side of things is.

You are talking about Josh McEachran who was a loanee about 6/7 years ago.....

Look at what their youth set up is doing now and where some of the players are ending up like Bamford who got Championship and EPL football experience with both light years ahead of the shite we have to offer.

I get you want our best talent to stay here...as do we all but he will get more money, better opportunities and better standard of learning at Chelsea than here...that's fact.

Playing against shite like Dundee, Hamilton, Inverness and the other hammer chuckers in Scotland is hardly priming a player for a future in the top leagues. He's not even getting a game for us as it stands so where is he better off...in our youth set up or theirs?

He is only 15 ffs. Thats the point, he has more chance of getting first team football here than at Chelsea in the next 2 seasons.

You have missed him training with the 1st team and Caixinha saying he'll play those that are good enough regardless of age? You heard that he is considering starting Beerman against Killie? He is better here at this stage in his career from a football perspective.

If its money then maybe Chelsea but if its football at this moment its Rangers.

Chelsea are not going to give him 1st team football....this was addressed about 11 pages ago.

What they can give him is a far better standard of development than we can plus more option of playing at a much better level if he continues his development as most of their youngsters end up in the Championship gaining experience which is several levels above what we can offer domestically.

So he get's more money, a better chance of development and chance of playing better standard of football in England or abroad.

We can say European football (that isnt guaranteed and we don't even know if he'd be in Pedro's plans).

Fans will have the blue tinted specs on like you do but when you look at it and weigh everything up it's obvious he would be looking to move down there. Footballers are interested in financially securing their future and that's exactly what this does. Worst case scenario he does a Feruz...get's paid a small fortune and will end up punted out to a league 1 English side or play against the most talented youngsters in Europe.

The manager is only talking about starting those players as we have no defense since the majority are missing  Next season we will have a much larger squad with better players...those names won't be near our team unless there is fuck all investment.

I think its you with the blue tinted specs on just not Rangers blue. I'm looking at long term career development. You are a 'glass almost empty' pessimist looking at the worst case scenario with Rangers. Caixinha has stated if your good enough you are old enough and you ignore completely that he has gone out of his way to encourage him to stay.

Wouldn't a couple of years here then a move at 17/18 with a bigger price and more real experience at a senior level would benefit both parties? With the money being close to the same it pushes it further towards staying.

Not if he didn't progress and lost his chance at a dream move down south to one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

There is no guarantee he would get that chance again.

It's hardly biased thinking a young boy would probably prefer to move to a club light years ahead of us.......
