BridgeIsBlue 66,654
A decade ago today, unbelievable looking at where we were back then to now
Loyaleastend 3,260
At least we got rid of him eventually and I feel good about the progress since Oh, you didn't mean Ally in the preview picture above?
Inigo 32,676
Sat watching it in a bar in Lindos. Great night.
pcbear 10,924
I went to see Billy Connolly that night in Southend, flicked my phone on as we left and let out a scream of joy, fuck me was that unexpected.
Inigo 32,676
The most memorable player from that season was Hutton. Pretty much untouchable. Bossed matches in the CL and Scottish international qualifiers against top outfits. Went from being pretty ordinary to looking a top, top player in a very short space of time. Terry Hurlock Loyal 12,133
Where does the time go, remember screaming at the TV that whole game-just couldn't believe it. Rember watch the dire performance in the home match later, surrounded by scummy sheep fans in the now defunct Rosemount Bar. That was a terrible game - still we kicked on nicely to the UEFA final. His last game at the piggery was some performance, even though he was red carded he absolutely bossed McManus and Caldwell who spent the whole game greetin like wee lassies. Lloyd 10,756
That Jig goal is still one of my favourites, not a fantastic player but he'd give you everything he had.

ready1873 3,902
Will never tire of watching the goals from that game. I remember Beasleys in particular and almost hesitating to celebrate incase he was offside. Felt unreal. Nearly shit myself when Juninho was standing over the ball at the couple of free kicks they had.

BlueSuedeSambas 54,488
Seen the thread titles "Kings of Lyon" and it reminded me of that time somebody in the OT started a thread asking who sang that song "heyyyyyy this place is on fire" about the same time that Sex on Fire was probably the most played song in the world
BlueThunder 8,454
I missed it live as I had an anniversary with the GF, but I had recorded it. To be fair to her she checked the score during the meal, and when we got home she told me to watch the match. Happy days.

Never got over how that went from Darcheville hitting the bar from just about under it for 1-1, to 3-0 in, what seemed, a matter of moments. Yep... if that goes in (fucking should have!!) we would have went through.... group of Barca, Lyon and Stuttgart - that would have been some achievement!! Captain Hilts 12,819
What a game, what a season. 10 years? Fucking hell. The confidence and willingness we had in those first few CL games was incredible. I honestly thought we were unlucky to draw with Barcelona at Ibrox. Cousin and Ferguson both missed sitters IIRC. I think we were a bit unlucky in the away leg, too. After being murdered 2-0, they sort of forgot what they were there for & Novo pulled a couple of decent late saves out of their keeper, iirc.
