Templeton - please clarify

Recommended Posts

He left hearts to join us in division 3. It didn't work out for him here but it dosent make me bitter towards him. Actually like to see ex players doing well as long as it's not against us.

Another example as Waghorn, didn't work out for him here but I'm not raging when he scores infact I'm pleased for him. He's always the first to congratulate our players on Twitter when they play well. Shows he's not bitter about leaving he realises it just wasn't for him up here.

The pressure of playing for Rangers is massive, lots of players just won't be able to make it here. Dosent make them bad people .

You can't compare Waghorn to Templeton mate. Waggy tried to make a career, tried his best but was not quite good enough. Templeton simply signed a deal and expected the best of the game to come to him.

Player of the month, it has just been announced. Quite astounding.

Apparently if you score against the big bad bears your the player of the month, just the same as if you coach the team that beat the bears your almost a shoe in for manager of the month, pretty baffling but not surprising at all ???

From what I heard he had persistent injury problems (that much was obvious) throughout his career that no-one could get to the bottom of so he'd be out and recover but come back still made of glass. Apparently in the summer he went to a specialist that highlighted what the actual root cause was and since then he's not had the same problems (He had a broken foot earlier in the season but that was a freak accident rather than the same issue that has dogged his career)

Maybe Rossiter should go and see that specialist!

We signed him cause he looked great against us, because he tore Whittaker a new arsehole every time

At the time, who wouldn't look great against Whittaker (The Big White Tav)? And yet him and Ambrose strolled it against us back in August.

Work way a guy who's good mates with him says he took a major wage cut was on 12.5k for us and he's only getting £550 a week for hamilton. But probably about his level.

You got the decimal point in the wrong place.

No danger he was on 12.5k.

He is having a rennaisance at the moment. Pity he couldn’t have turned it on for us.

Was looking forward to his performances when he joined but he was quite underwhelming. I dunno what exactly the problem was but it looked a lot of the time like he was lacking in confidence playing for us.

From everything you say - looks like poor management could not get the best out of him?

But brooney,  boy wonder tierney, dumbelly(admittedly only two 30 min appearances), and flasher forrest have been consistently better than anybody anywhere on the planet. Nearer to home and tongue out of my cheek, Tav has been terrific.

I think he had been injured a couple of times on the plastic pitches which could've been coincidence but McCoist was para about letting him play on them.

Reading some of the nonsense here would make you think Templeton wanted to leave the club he supports and take a step down in wages for his dream move of playing on Hamilton's plastic pitch.

He's a talented player who was unlucky with injuries while he played for us. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, doesn't make him a wage thief or an arsehole.

Well done to the lad for digging in and getting his career back on track wish it had worked out for him here but some things aren't meant to be.

Is my mind playing tricks on me, but didn't this waster feign panic/pulled out of tackles/claimed injury everytime we played on the numerous plastic pitches in the lower league?? Seem to remember him being wrapped in cotton wool everytime we went to Annandale, Aidrie and Montrose etc - due to the plastic pitch. Now he is playing every second week,  on what is quite simply the worst pitch of its kind in Scotland. What a total hypocrite and wage their he was/is.

Kind Regards,

Terry.

Your mind is not playing tricks mate.  He fucked his knee?  Ankle?  (So long ago I don't remember) when we were in the 3rd ? division.  Never the same for us after that.  Real shame... A talent.  But .. after that injury, he was shite.  Didn't try was my take.  A case of our club being FAR too big for him.  :tu:

I believe he had an injury that for some reason was never diagnosed properly and as a last resort he visited some specialist who found the problem & sorted it. It seems it was a deep rooted tear in his medial ligament and was only spotted when the specialist inserted a camera into his knee.
