LochendBilly 8,422
Looking to get a hand held console for a 5 year old, he can navigate phones and tablets and picks stuff up easily. Any suggestions on a decent one with a good choice of suitable games? Help would be appreciated as I have no clue about all this stuff. Thanks. Straight-Edge-Loyal 6,696
PS Vita or the Nintendo Switch are your best bets but games are varied depending on his interests mates. LochendBilly

Nintendo Switch - in particular Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda look as if they’d be class ?? LochendBilly

The Switch can be used as a proper tv console as well as has a lot of adult friendly party games as an added bonus though it will be more expensive. Jimfanciesthedude 24,902
Aye the switch and the DS are best for younger weans, you won't go wrong with them
laudrupno1 3,932
The switch is good for weans mate got mines there's last Christmas and now there's a good amount of games out also can be plugged into their telly too to play like a normal console as well as being handheld. maverick1200 2,858
Anything Nintendo I'd say. If you don't want to spend the money on a switch, buy the 2ds. Loads more games and a bit more sturdy for a 5 year old. I bought my 5 year old one then cracked it so I don't have to buy any games.
big blue Fin 3,724
I loathe Nintendo but It's aimed at the kids market so definitely the switch.

Mols94 3,669
I would go with the Switch over the PS Vita. Also, I don't think they release games on the Vita anymore.

Copland bear 7,966
Another one for the switch, good controllers also but £60, great for yourself and when they are asleep you can play Mario kart on the tv ?
Finny 5,625
Another vote for the switch. My two girls 4 and 6 play it all the time. Mario cart and Mario tennis keeps them occupied.
