Them's the breaks, eh?

Recommended Posts

Apparently 8 Aberdeen players will need to self isolate for up to 14 days (the 2 who tested positive for 10 days from Wednesday  plus another 6 who were in close contact with them for 14 days from Wednesday) and will miss the clubs upcoming  fixtures which, confirmed by the SFA's Joint Resource Group,  WILL be played.

Bet you'll never guess who plays the scum next Saturday at the theatre of screams.........

This  cruel virus has been very kind to some

Not trying to be a smart arse but why do the other 6 players need to self isolate unless they have tested positive?

Because they’ve been in close contact with a confirmed case, so they isolate for 14 days to give any potential symptoms a chance to manifest.

Fair enough but does that not defeat the point of the mandatory twice a week testing? Unless I’m wrong that that’s a thing

Allegedly they were all out on the town last Saturday night after losing to us which is strictly against the Covid protocols agreed with the government. If true they should have the book thrown at them and IMO the fairest decision would be to suspend them for a full set of fixtures so that all teams face a similarly, hugely depleted Aberdeen team

No names out yet but feasibly Lewis, McKenna, Consedine, Ferguson, Hayes, McGinn, Bryson and Ojo could all be missing v the scum (not to mention Main and Cosgrove being injured)

That's a huge and unfair advantage

Right enough that’s shite if all of the named players miss that game, they’d probably get pumped anyway but not the point.

Should definitely face face a severe punishment if true

Essentially St Johnstone, Hamilton and the scum will have the advantage of playing what is likely to equate to an Aberdeen reserve team. If that is as a result of a massive breach of agreed protocols then the appropriate action should be implemented to protect the integrity of the competition

Luckily enough Peter the Jap is back on the board and he is  huge on sporting integrity so he will make sure no-one gets an unfair advantage

Their game against St Johnstone on Saturday should be cancelled. No way should they be forced to play with eight players missing even if they were wrong for partying after we neat them.

The problem is that they would need to cancel three games right at the start of the season and if this happened every time a player tested positive the season would degenerate into chaos in no time. If the players had followed the guidelines then only those who tested positive would be missing, but they decided to go out on the piss in a large group and they should be hammered for it

I'm all for hammering Aberdeen for their carelessness but not for giving others an unfair advantage.

If Lennon went on the piss or Griffiths and brought it into the squad, I wonder if the same rule would have applied.

At least we know a precedent has been set and the same rules must apply for all going forward.

I just hope all Rangers players pass testing when returning from Germany. The risk of traveling.

How does it defeat the purpose? Surely this vindicates it? Players have been daft enough to go out on Saturday, clearly not been distancing, caught the virus, and it’s been picked up in the test. They then follow the isolation procedure we all have to.

The fact there’s been no noise from Aberdeen on this shows they know they’ve fucked up IMO. They know they have to take their medicine.

If this was pre us playing the orcs, would you fee the same way?

CLUB STATEMENT

Further to tonight’s JRG statement, Aberdeen FC confirms that two first team players, who have tested positive for COVID-19 but are asymptomatic, are self-isolating for ten days.

In line with government guidance and procedures from the football authorities, six other players, who were in close proximity with the two positive cases, are also self-isolating for 14 days.

The Club has been in open discussions with the football authorities since this came to light.

As a result, the Club will be missing eight players for the St Johnstone game, which the JRG has confirmed will now go ahead on Saturday.

AFC Chairman, Dave Cormack, said: “After Saturday’s game, with all eyes on Pittodrie, we were once again commended on the stringent processes and measures we had in place. Given the efforts of everyone at the Club and our investment in protecting our most valuable assets, this is a bitter blow.

“With two first team players testing positive for COVID-19, plus six others having to isolate for 14 days, it is also a harsh reminder of the severity and speed of spread of this virus.

“The Club will be carrying out a full investigation but, as an immediate first step, we have reinforced the Club’s COVID-19 protocols and the governing bodies’ guidance with every player and member of staff and will continue to regularly educate and remind everyone of what is, and what is not, acceptable in the current climate.

“We now have to focus on preparing for Saturday’s game under extremely difficult circumstances.

Surely our players/staff need tested or extra tested or whatever now in light of this if we are tracking and tracing?

Which will be completely ignored by the scum , the fuckpig press and probably not even a mention from the sheep . Seeing as they don't try a fuck against the scum anyway

Tbh I agree that Aberdeen should be playing these games, we need to get this season finished and 3 postponed games already at this stage would be a nightmare, the players are missing due to their own stupidity so Aberdeen need to take their medicine, just a coincidence they are due to play the taigs but let’s be honest it would’ve made fuck all difference anyway.
