Ianis Hagi

Just reading there that hes now in a Pepsi advert alongside Pogba, Sancho and a few others. Obviously the Hagi name is huge and it's nice to see our players getting their name out their which of course gets Rangers name out there too.

What I'm trying to get at is that we have a star on our hands and we have been lucky to get him at a good price. Admittedly he does go missing in games and it's a rare occasion we get 90 minutes out of him but he has that ability to find that one moment of genius to win a tight game or unlock a miserly defence.

I keep seeing speculation linking him with a big move and the way he has been developing with us, that will be happening sooner or later. The boy is a real talent and a proper chip off the old block. Let's enjoy him while we can and when he does leave it will be for a healthy 8 figure fee.

Ianis is a bright young man. He is only 21 and owns his own advertising agency.

I think it is in his best football interests to stay with us for at least two more years. His talents are raw and still prone to mistakes. By the time he is 25, he will be at a massive club.

Think he's developing well here. Like the likes of Aribo, Kamara, Kent & Morelos, Rangers is the right place for him. His goal contributions have quality even when he wasn't at his best earlier on this season he was contributing with numbers. Hopefully he can continue to get better, get more consistent, win plenty of trophies and fetch a pretty fee when he decides to take a step up to one of the top leagues.

I think personally against the dross, he struggles, but you’d argue we use him to cut open the dross.

however, in the bigger matches, European, or the bigger domestic games, he thrives, whilst not as good at the defensive side when out of procession.

it seems the management team are trusting him more in the bigger games, whilst knowing, while getting better, he won’t do the defensive side as well.

just my observation the last 6 months tbf.

I used to agree but, over the course of a challenging December/January, he was often the player who made the difference against the dross in our league. My opinion of him improved massively over that run of games - and I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say we wouldn’t be anywhere near as far ahead if he hadn’t stepped up like that.

If he keeps progressing like he does, he will bring good money to the club and I think we'll be happy to had him all these years and let him go to Premier League or elsewhere.

Let's enjoy his mentality and qualities as long as we can.

I've always thought Hagi a true gem.

He always looks to do something different rather than the safe pass and half of the time it looks like he's merely lost the ball to those that can't see what he was attempting. But...as seen in the 3rd goal vs Antwerp...when it comes off it's totally game changing.

We've so many exciting players right now it's bloody fantastic but I reckon Hagi will go all the way. Lack of pace? Plenty of top class midfielders have lacked that but had what he has...vison.

He ended up with a move to Italy far too early in his career and expectations have always been huge for such a young player.

Managed right, and we have the management team to do it, he'll become a monster of a player.

Thrilled to have him for the Gers.

Whereas certain players are your everyday players, there are games/tasks that require a different type of ability. Hagi is one of these specialists as is Aribo. Neither are 50/60 games a season type players like Tav or Goldson.

In the right game, against the right opponent, he proves his worth. It is up to the management team to know which ones to use and when.

He’s a real asset if used properly.

He's already playing for a massive club, or hadn't you noticed?

It is very well publicised that our model needs to be bringing in potential and trying to get the best out of them before selling them on for a profit.

However the first attempt at the model was really Morelos. In my view There is a really big chance that Morelos won’t leave. I think he looks settled and at ease with his role in this team now and I am sure the prospect of going up against the teams in the CL is a mouthwatering one for him.

The idea that Hagi will bring us good money when he moves on to a bigger club might be similar. I just wonder how many of our “project” players are going to just say fuck it, why would we leave?
