Meant to be signing Jack Butland, some boy from Norwich on a free (kieran dowell) and paying £7m for some striker from Fiorentina.

Kent, Morelos and Arfield 100% away.

And he's no wanting a director of football either.

Only striker anywhere near worth as low as £7m is Jović. Can't see it being him. You sure it wasn't Sampdoria?

Said about the boy Dowell before.

Butland is very meh.

Think he will want a Technical Director in instead to handle contracts etc and more behind the scenes stuff.

But could you not just get rid of them and promote youth players into that role? The idea of Wright and Arfield being here next season doesn't sit well with me. We need a good starting eleven followed by players pushing them for that spot. Both players wouldn't do that.

Most of our young players will struggle to go on to make it as professionals never mind being good enough to make it at Rangers.

The idea that you could replace Arfield or Wright with some of these kids and not suffer as a squad is just silly.

Hopefully Lowry and King can go on to carve out a space in the squad for themselves, but realistically our best youth prospects outside of them are probably at the stage they could push for places at a Killie or Motherwell level club. They are miles away from pushing for a starting place with us. They are way behind the likes of Arfield in terms of ability.

He played against the fenians

And was good. It's hardly giving him a fair crack at the whip but. He could have potentially been out number one and saved us a headache and abject failure from the other keepers for two years.

Still mental that we've had almost two seasons to deal with the goalie situation and haven't once tried Mccrorie.

McCrorie is likely pretty rubbish since he struggled for game time at livi.

Useful to hold onto as an emergency backup as he is homegrown, but he ain't ever making it here as a big part player.

It's not that silly. Wright and Arfield are picking up thousands of pounds per week literally doing fuck all. Ok Arfield sometimes comes of the bench and scores but are we really happy paying Scott Wright to fill a space as a home trained player when a youth player could do that and save money?

He got injured at Livi and the keeper who came in played well and he couldn't get back in the team. Had a few good games for them and judging by his one performance for us he looked very good. He is/was at least worth a shot.

My mate had a look and they've got an Ivorian who was on loan at Anderlecht last season. Probably him.

A few others have though. If he’s good enough he should be playing however he’s been here under a few managers and none have been interested in giving him a go.

If he looked like a good keeper he would have had more gametime.

People seem to just completely ignore the fact that these players are watched everyday in training and think that they "deserve a shot".

He has to be better than McGregor and McLaughlin in training to deserve a shot.

He hasn't, so right now is not good enough.

We need a new keeper, better than any of the 3 above.

No it’s based on the fact we’ve heard how highly rated he is for years, and when he’s played his limited games for us he’s done well.

No. Wright offers more than any of the youth players.

I think he is pretty poor, but he is miles ahead of any of the youth options in that position.

King and Lowry are the closest two to squad status. Mayo might be an option as an emergency backup when he returns.

Wright is nowhere near as bad as some make him out to be. I think he is a decent squad player. He's not a starter.

His level is Aberdeen which is below squad player status for us. Lovely lad, pretty quick, very limited ability.

If he wasn't Scottish issue again....
