Bosnian international Zlatan Muslimovic is training with Rangers, STV has learned.

The striker arrived in Glasgow on Sunday ahead of travelling to Murray Park on Monday morning.

Muslimovic is currently a free agent since leaving PAOK Salonika in May. The 30-year old left the Greek club at the end of a three year spell after being told that his contract would not be renewed.

"I can't say too much at the moment. But if something was to happen with Rangers, it would be good for the player and the club," one of Muslimovic's representatives, Mate Jozipovic, told STV. "He is a very good player.

"He last played in Greece. He has been training the national team since then."

Ally McCoist has stated that he is looking to add a striker to his squad during the January transfer window and has been linked with several players.

The Rangers boss currently has Honduran midfielder Jorge Claros on trial and has made a contract offer to Estonian international Enar Jaager, after the defender spent a week at Murray Park.

Muslimovic, who has Swedish citizenship, played youth football in Sweden before being picked up by Udinese. The forward spent seven years under contract with the Serie A club but failed to win a first team place.

Udinese sent the player out to seven clubs and after short-term spells at Perugia, Pistoiese, Ascoli, Padova, Rimini, Messini and Parma, he left the club permanently to join Atalanta.

A single season in Bergamo failed to bring success and Muslimovic moved to PAOK in 2008.

Despite a stop-start club career the 30-year old has maintained a place in his national side, earning 33 caps and scoring 12 goals.
