JR 1,480
Red all day long ~ my only surprise was that it was given.
StevenDavis 112
I said it at the time it was a straight red it could've broken his ankle fuck sake
Spectre 1,663
It was obviously a level up but it was just more of what Templeton faces every time he plays. Thugs with short tempers than can't handle skillful players doing what they do best. Ref shat it not long after when there should have been a second yellow for Gray bringing Templeton down on the edge of the box. No free kick given. Big Al 55 9,252
I'd be pretty disappointed if one of our players had a straight red card for that challenge.

That was a booking and free kick all day long but like you said the ref bottled it because he'd have to have shown another red. My other half (not a Gers fan) came with us last night and he thought the treatment Templeton got was shocking, especially not getting the foul for that challenge. As for the guy that did get sent off, was it him that nearly took Wallace out with a straight leg/studs up near the half-way line in the 2nd half? Just because he missed and Wallace jumped out the way doesn't mean he should've got away with it.
Wearethepeople72 1,845
Haven't seen it on TV but thought it was a definite red at the game.
Ger_onimo 20,488
Had already stopped him with his first leg, tried to hurt him with his second. No protest. Stonewall red card.
MaddistonKnight 1,567
2 footed challenge from behind after being skinned? From where I was sat in GF6 it looked very much like he knew what he was doing. Straight red any day of the week.
WilliamFyfe 1,438
I agree. Horrible tackle. Looked like Temps ankle was nearly snapped. Lucky!
Duncan 23
From where I was sitting it was a shocker of a challenge and deserved the red card.
OlegKuznetsov 10,816
He should have had a red card for hand ball, too.
King Jela 20,361
It was definitely a red.
TheRoyalBlueShirt 140
The player knew immediately what the ref was going to do - he was guilty as sin - it was a straight red offence.Btw, it's a wonder the powers that be haven't hauled Temps up for simulation. Beaujolais 1,371
Did not look as if the player went in with malicious intent to injure- but that sort of tackle could do serious damage and therefore needs to be eradicated from the game- so in my view a straight red. Ref right on the spot and clearly it was a no brainer to him.

EastEnclosureBear 2,919
Horrible tackle. Ian Murray said it was soft, aye nae bother.
Smile 26,609
Anyone saying that wasn't a red needs their eyes tested. Have seen a few folk on here saying it was soft, dubious etc.Templeton was lucky not to have been seriously injured. Was a straight red like you say beats me why anyone thinks it was soft. WilliamFyfe 1,438
Stubbs said after the game the red card was harsh. Yet Hibs today haven't appealed the red card. 2 match ban.
Ger77 742
The fact we have a thread debating it would suggest it was soft. That said, i will happily take a similar soft sending off against the opposition every week.

WilliamFyfe 1,438
It was anything but soft. It was a tackle from behind. 2 feet right into the ankles I'm sure. Didn't get the ball.

StewGer 606
It was a shocker, even my dear wee maw was going nuts when Murray said it was soft. Everyone knows the rules, you go to ground from behind you run the risk.
