I’m delighted that when I said this a few hours ago I had no idea Hibs would have banged in 2 goals already.

Rangers returned to the top of the Scottish Premiership on Sunday after an enthralling 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle - and the immediate aftermath felt as though the Gers had never been away.
With little over 60 hours having passed after the final whistle in Thursday's Europa League draw with Villareal, Steven Gerrard's side put in a dogged shift to secure the three points in the capital and it instantly set many of Scottish football's talking heads into meltdown.
Anyone who tuned in to BT Sport yesterday lunchtime would have been forgiven for thinking they had tuned into a weird hybrid of celtic's and Hearts' club TV channels as Michael Stewart raved about the seemingly once-in-a-lifetime performance of the mononymic Christophe at the heart of the Jambos' defence while Rob McLean delivered his commentary with the enthusiasm of a man on his way to his own execution.

    It’s all a bit confusing.
Lionbrand - bad, blue pound, exploiting fans, starving the club etc.
Coplandstreetwear - somehow, a bunch of good guys and none of the above.
If you want a fake top, spend your money how you choose. If you don’t, then don’t. Seems to be a lot of grief over what should be a personal choice.

I think that would have been accepted if they didn't state it as an alternative to our official gear at the time with money going to the club. They sold it as a moneymaker for the club over Ashley's gear which was a lie.

Sorry I wanted to say special thanks to ‘Govan Blue’ too for organising the brick for Tom. A lovely thing to do. His son-in-law and grandson are both season ticket holders so I’ve sent the info to them as to where the brick will be. Thank you again x

    Hi,
I know friends of (Tom) Ed kindly kept you updated on here as to what was happening at the time but I really needed and wanted  to thank you all personally for all your kind words. Today we took him to rest at the places he held most dear as were his wishes. As emotional as it was I know he would have been looking down laughing at us lurking suspiciously by trees at what we felt the most appropriate spots for him would be in Bellahouston Park. Without say the most special place was in the attached photo in view of his Primary School and the club he loved above all else. A big man with equally big opinions but an even bigger heart ?. Loosing him has left a large hole in my heart but your kind words and thoughts helped when trying to cope with losing my best friend. Kind regards  Jacque x

I get that people are angry over how he went about his business when he left, I am still disappointed and a little bemused myself but I think it was a personal thing about how he felt he was handled by the board anyway that is not the point I am going to make.
If we signed Ally McCoist (the player) for the figure you quoted £650k I think this would be a phenomenal return on that price, John Greig was the man who signed McCoist bagging 20 goals in his debut season.
Over 15 years at Ibrox, he was to average nearly 24 counters per term and that’s a figure few have achieved with Rangers – particularly over several campaigns. Of course, McCoist’s prolific form in front of goal twice led to him being crowned Europe’s top goalscorer and he received the Golden Boot award in 1992 and 1993.
Also included in Super Ally’s tally were 28 hat-tricks for his beloved Gers and an incredible 18 different honours, including 10 league championships.
Like most fans I too see that his managerial career was a sad ending to such an outstanding playing contribution but to dismiss his magnificent playing performances to 650 thousand quid is I think folly, there was plenty of players at Ibrox that have earned way more for far little return. I get the anger but dont let it blind you to the fact that not many will ever be able to deliver such a successful return in my lifetime as Ally McCoist has as a player.

Looks like a lot of people in this thread don’t seem to realise that you can expect a result but also understand why you might not have got one without it meaning that you think it’s acceptable.

They’ve won 7 leagues in a row, regardless of whether we were there or not.
I’d absolutely be celebrating 10 if it was the other way around

Critism is always a valid thing when it is good and well thought out however some of the comments people on here and social media are making are straight up ludicrous and are in need of a reality check.
We’re 5 months into Gerrad being our manager and he’s brought up good success in europe and he’s made Ibrox a fortress. It is pish we aren’t further up the table or in the league cup final but that’s to be expected of a fairly fresh team with a manager learning the ropes of the game.
Already we have people accusing it of being another Warburton and Pedro era. But the thing is is like or dislike it we need to grind out poor results and standings, else we’ll find ourselves in a terrible situation where we’re bringing a new manager in every season and that does set back progress.
We need to squash the negativity for now and just get behind the team and the manager. People criticised Gerrad for making late changes or the wrong changes, well last might that didn’t appear to be the case. The only thing wrong last night was creativity and our final ball, things that can and will be adressed with another transfer window.
This shit takes time, Look across the city. Rodgers didn’t buy the majority of his players a lot of them are still Deila players but the thing is is he’s had a basis to build on. That’s what we’re doing right now and truthfully it’s looking good, we have fewer passengers and our bench is looking decent.
Keep the head and back the Manager. He needs time and support above all else. I was appalled by the crowd last night, much more effort put into negativity rather than singing and getting behind the squad. Opposition come to Ibrox and will play on that mentality as it actively hurts the team.
TL:DR Stop being moaning cunts, keep the head and back the gaffer. We’re not going to be greats in 5 months alone so stop expecting it to be that way. Should shit still be shit this time next year after two windows then yeah it’s poor and very serious questions need asked.

Really?  My optimism hasn't even really been dented by this result.
We've lost way easier ties with way better squads.
These thing happen, we have no divine right to win games.

Glad he isn't the problematic player he was in his youth that can end up costing the club.

It’s a terrible way to go and has a heavy impact on family and friends too. His recent posts and the comments here show that he faced up to the situation and decided when to go on his own terms. I can only hope I would be so brave. Condolences and best wishes to those that knew him and helped him through his pain.
    RIP.

Thought posters might like to put a face to the name, checked if it was okay to do so, it is.
Something most won’t know about ED is that he was at N’castle after leaving school, he was offered terms but his mother decided he was getting a real job in the bank.
He was a big lump of a lad even then, typical battering ram centre forward of that era and skill to go with it, who knows what could have been, hope you like the fotie from last year, keep rockin’ big chap ?

I'm starting this thread just to inform RM that the member Edmiston Drive is now seriously ill in hospital and probably won't get out .  He was diagnosed with cancer a few week ago and was told how bad it was.  Unfortunately on his next visit just over a week ago his condition had escalated dramatically and his time left was weeks.
As we all know he had many a heated debate and wasn't shy in giving his opinion, even when out for a few beers and I wasn't interested!!!
What I can say is that the big man was 100% Rangers and that's not up for debate!
Going to leave it at that.
Admin if this ends up a thread on rights, wrongs or a slagging match please delete.

Dear "Family" if I may call you all family, excuse the title of the thread but it takes me back to the fateful day (v Kilmarnock just after liquidation was announced) and no doubt like many others I stood with tear filled eyes listening to that song being played thinking my god what has happened to my beloved Glasgow Rangers, well as you all know since then my own circumstances have been affected pretty badly by the horrible C word and I have had a pretty hellish time this past while. My second last visit to see my consultant didn't really go very well with the news that there had been a slight further spread in my bowel of the dreaded "C" well after more treatment and scans I returned (yesterday Friday) to see who I class is truly a very very special (rugby supporting) person and receive the news that the "Spread Has Stopped and The Worst PART has SHRUNK" by quite a bit. As I mentioned previously I hope with all my heart to return to Ibrox soon and there will be a scoreboard announcement saying "Falkirk BEAR is BACK" and I will sit quietly in my seat again yes no doubt with tears in my eyes saying to myself yes things are Alright. To you all my dear Rangers family I thank you all from the bottom of my heart just for caring and taking the time to send messages which you will never ever know just how much they meant to me these past months.??????????????????????
