DAVE KING HANDS RANGERS MASSIVE TRANSFER BOOST AS CAIXINHA  TAKES CHARGE

Rangers chairman Dave King has revealed that Pedro Caixinha has the financial backing of the board and will get money to buy players.

The Ibrox chief also believes that the current campaign has been one to forget and has admitted that the current crop of players are underperforming.

King was speaking for the first time since Caixinha was confirmed as Mark Warburton’s successor last.

The Portuguese boss watched on from the stands as Rangers fought back to earn a 1-1 draw with Old Firm rivals Celtic on Sunday.

He will take charge of his first game against Hamilton on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.

“Of course,” said King when asked if transfer funds will be available for Caixinha, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

Where have heard this before?

Yup, until we actually see it we won't believe it.

Now giving the manager 500k to spend counts as having funds available.

Hope to fuck I'm proven wrong on this and we spend 10m in the summer but it'll be more like spending 2m tops and selling Fod to Forest for 500k :justno:

So King answers "of course" to a question and that means "massive transfer boost"?

Means nothing unless he puts a number to it. Which he won't.

I don't want him to put a figure on it. If he comes out and says we have something like  £10M to spend then it puts us in to a weaker position at the negotiating table.

It's important we spend and spend relatively big but the exact amount available should remain between King and Caixinha. We'll see at the end of the transfer window.

Maybe so, but it's also a chance for him to make up some lost ground with the fans, by committing to a sum and actually making that sum available to the manager to spend on transfers in the summer.

Transparency, and all that.....

Maybe Caixinha will be able to tap into 20 x £500k Portuguese starlets...

Could it be any worse than digging into League 1 and 2 from down south?

(Numbers chosen at Random. I have no source of exact financial amount from Dave King)
