That Neil Cameron is a wank to be honest, is his paper or their sister paper whatever that put the story out there without a name or without tellinh people what happened, then one of the news groups journos tells people not to speculate.

"26 year old Footballer needs to be rescued from the River Kelvin at 2.30am..."

As if that isn't going to cause people to speculate FFS

Hopefully he's ok, seems like a quiet wee guy

ABERDEEN star Gary Mackay-Steven was treated for hypothermia after a fireman pulled him from a freezing river.

The dramatic rescue at 4am on Sunday came an hour and a half after the ex-Celt, 26, jumped in to Glasgow’s River Kelvin.

He was taken to the city’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but last night his condition was not known.

It’s believed Mackay-Steven had earlier been in the nearby Sanctuary nightclub but had left after an incident inside.

He’s understood to have been partying with a fellow footie ace.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 2.40am on Sunday, August 27, police received a report of a 26 year-old male in the River Kelvin, Partick.

“Emergency services attended and a full search of the area was carried out with the male being located.

“He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had dispatched their boat from Polmadie Fire Station in Glasgow’s Southside for the rescue.

A spokesman said: “At 2.46am on Sunday, August 27 the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to reports of a man in the water at the River Kelvin near Benalder Bridge in Glasgow.

The footie star was in the River Kelvin for an hour and a half before he was rescued

“Four appliances attended and specialist water rescue crews safely assisted the individual out of the water – he was then transferred into the care of paramedics after suffering the effects of hypothermia.

“Firefighters ensured the area was safe before leaving the scene.”

Mackay-Steven had been in the squad for Aberdeen’s 4-3 win against Partick Thistle at the city’s Firhill, but was an unused substitute.

The attacker began his career at Ross County before earning a move to Liverpool as a teenager.

He's totally gay. Him and Stuart Armstrong

And Patrick Roberts is shagging Kieran Tierney as well. Not to mention the shenanigans Brendan gets up to! God knows what goes on at that club - at least the kids are safe in the East End!

Kids will never be safe in that part of town.
