Do players just stop improving or developing as players when they reach 22 or something?

Players at 22 should show some ability to make good decisions. He is very poor considering where he is at this moment in his career.

Of course players at 22 can improve but he has a LOT of improving to do to get to a decent level. Right now he is awful.

Considering we need to win the league it's just not good enough for what we require right now.

Ryan Kent at this stage last year was getting dubbed as a glorified showpony by the majority of the support and we have just signed him for 7m.

Give him time, it's only September.

Ryan Kent was also criticized rightly so for the same things Ojo is being criticized for and that's primarily bad decision making.    Ojo sometimes looks lost when he doesn't have the ball however he also makes some great runs in the right and left channels and links very well with Morelos.   Provided the out-ball a few times the other night.   Experience is the key.

That is such an exaggeration. Just search “Kent” on the forum and look at what people were saying in September 2018.

Fair enough by the end of September opinions were starting to change regarding Kent but a lot of people I know weren't convinced at the beginning of the month.

I just think some of the reactions in here regarding Ojo are a bit OTT. He's had some brilliant moments and some frustrating ones, always the same for a player his age.

He’s inconsistent and he needs to improve on his decision making but that will only come with game time, which he’s getting now.

Kent and Candeias managed 6 goals each and 9 and 12 assists respectively over the entire season last season. Ojo has 5 goals and 4 assists already so while he might be inconsistent he’s certainly not awful or anywhere near as bad as people are making him out to be.

Ojo is inconsistent like any young lad on the way up. But he has a quality and ability to deliver that others dont.

The stick Tav and Ojo get is a joke, especially when you compare it to the free passes given to Arfield and Davis when they lose the ball in similar circumstances and the backing given to Andy Halliday who is a total plodder.

Arfield's work rate is second to none, but sadly his general ball control and first touch is that of an elephant.

Becoming less effective as every game passes.

He could have scored a barrowload by now if he had the composure and ability.

Becoming a bit of a headless chicken.

I'm feeling that at 5he moment but don't know who could play that role. Docherty?

I watched defoe go off his nut with him in like our 4th game n that's when I knew his decision making was poor. He's only galvanised that thought since.

I said to the boys I'm going to shout at him more than any other player this year due to it and it's fucking happening, too regularly.

All Docherty has is energy imho. Absolutely no  first touch,  ball control, passing ability, vision, awareness or composure.  Obviously I'm tempted to say we could play him at RB 🤣🤣

The Kent argument about last year is just another myth from Rangers Media.

There was threads on here wanting him signed permanently in Sept last year calling him outstanding etc. He was praised in the qualifiers last year.

That being said Ejaria and Coulibaly were praised then as well.

Edit - just seen @OhW posted similar above.

For all the expert analysts on RM here's a selection of comments from the same time last season:  (and these are only a few Aug Sep last year)

Time to get Kent off. Let Middleton have a run at them.

..still think kent has something about him but hasnt shown it yet

..Kent can't seem to beat his full-back at all we need an attacking threat on that left-side.

Kent and Ejaria need fucked off too

Kent isn't good enough

kent is just an extra body in home games. He adds nothing

Think Kent doesn’t cope well with pressure. Much better once a game is won

RyanKent has the same problem as MOH. He just runs straight into people.

If Ojo scores 15+ this season we should do everything we can to sign him on a permanent basis.  Liverpool have Wilson out on loan who’s better but worth £20m+.  Realistically Ojo will never get in to their team.
