In the light of developments due to the spread of COVID-19 in Europe and related decisions made by different governments, all UEFA club competitions matches scheduled next week are postponed.

This includes the remaining UEFA Champions League, Round of 16 second leg matches scheduled on 17 and 18 March 2020; all UEFA Europa League, Round of 16 second leg matches scheduled on 19 March 2020; all UEFA Youth League, quarter-final matches scheduled on 17 and 18 March 2020.

Further decisions on when these matches take place will be communicated in due course.

As a consequence of the postponements, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League quarter-final draws scheduled for 20 March have also been postponed.

UEFA yesterday invited representatives of its 55 member associations, together with the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro, to a videoconference meeting on Tuesday 17 March to discuss European football’s response to the outbreak.

They must have known this decision was going to be made before this weeks games. Seems like a decision that could have been made earlier in the week.

Probably right but they will have wanted to protect the brand and get revenues along the way until this decision was made.

Euros will need to be postponed if they still plan to finish off these competitions

Euros will be moved to next year and next season  start will be delayed until further notice. This season will never get finished and declared null n void.

Rangers will still get gate receipts for last night and presumably the shared income of the tv deal with reaching the last 16. If it’s cancelled and tv income still paid out for the remaining ties due to it being a contractual agreement, would it increase Rangers tv share income even if in reality we were going out after the next game.

Should just patch the football til next season now

All teams left in Europa and CL straight into CL next year, fairs fair

Last time Scottish League was patched during a season was when we went to war, we were top of the league and the season was null and void

Fairs fair
