  1. Not for me. Half the price, twice the player.
  2. I heard it was September 31st Not like the rst guys to get mixed up...... Just a wee attempt at humour GCL.
  3. The boos I thought were when they announced someone was there from the SPL.
  4. I don't consider Barry a legend but he was a very good player for us, particularly in his first spell with us. I don't think he was a particularly great captain in terms of being inspirational or encouraging those around him. I also don't think he had a good rapport with the fans in the same way as Nacho has but that may be down to personality. He showed great courage in playing through the pain barrier and enduring many pain-killing injections to do so. I'm sorry it didn't work out for him with us and he rarely reached the heights he did in his first spell but he had much better players around him then. I wish him every success in the future and thank him for his service to the club. As for the OP, please don't bring David Edgar into this, I'm pretty sure he doesn't share your views.
  5. No they haven't been made public. They are usually sent out to shareholders about 3 weeks before the Club's AGM which could be held any time from August to December. The only people likely to know the truth are the directors and senior people at Grant Thornton.
  6. Billy Stark was one of the first appointments that Gordon Smith made. I don't think his position relates to Burley's in any way.
  7. Will pass it on to my son......Thats if I have one!!! Pass it on to your little girl. My dad only had two daughters and we have both had season tickets since the mid 70s.
  8. I should have said if someone ever invented a time box that could take you back in time. I think i'd back to the day we won the league at Aberdeen. The day big Hateley scored two. It may be because i was young but that day is very special to me. That one was at Ibrox.
  9. I believe the club has also donated strips for members of the Black Watch who are playing a friendly in Afghanistan next week. Terrific gesture.
  10. Amazon have it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=...p;x=14&y=19
  11. Rangers were supposed to be looking after this a couple of years ago with Sandy Jardine, I think, taking to do with it. Seem to be dragging their heels with this as nothing has been done to the grave. I may be wrong but wasn't it Bill Struth's grave that the club were going to do something about after the subject was brought up at the AGM a couple of years ago?
  12. I posted this on another thread. There is a Founders Committee already set up and they are fundraising for things just like this. See e-mail address that I have highlighted. This is something that all Bears can work together on. No point in re-inventing the wheel. Project Launch: The Commemoration & Celebration of Rangers' Founders -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “The greatest rags to riches story in the history of sport.” That is a quote which has been applied to Rangers by a number of different writers and Rangers fans and there is little in there that can be argued with. When the four young men who founded Rangers did so in 1872, it is impossible not to ponder on where they saw their vision going. Would they have dreamed that they were the founding force behind a football team that would grow into not just a football team but an institution that took a special place at the heart of Scottish society and which became a focal point for Scots and Ulster-Scots even after they had emigrated? Would they dream that their creation would reach out and establish roots in all four corners of the world? Would they dream that their creation would become the most successful football Club in the world? We can only speculate as to what the Gallant Pioneers were thinking when they first kicked a ball all those years ago; but we can and will promote their dream, their ethics, their drive and determination to succeed, their character, a word synonymous with all true Rangers. The reasons behind the project to commemorate the Founders are many, but essentially, it has been felt among a circle of Rangers supporters that not enough is known about them, nor is enough done to promote them. This, we hope to rectify through a series of events and promotions which, it is hoped, will spread the word about the origins of our great and proud institution and also to introduce the names of the young boys who founded Rangers to younger Rangers fans worldwide, in the hope that the reputation of the pioneers is given the audience it deserves. There might not seem an obvious date to launch this campaign as it does not correspond with an anniversary that is immediately familiar; however, the campaign is the culmination of a lot of behind the scenes work that has been going on over the past few years and is now on the verge of coming to fruition. As will become evident in the coming weeks and months, there are a number of exciting projects planned, participation in which will be open to all Rangers supporters in the interests of fundraising. Possibly, the most prominent ones will be a plaque that will be put on permanent display at Glasgow Green (which is what the fundraising will be directed towards), a banner and a book which will be released later on in the year. It is also hoped that the Club’s participation will involve having a Founders’ Day at Ibrox, coinciding with a home fixture next season. There will also be a dinner, a sponsored walk and a football tournament which will undoubtedly be popular. People can make contact with the committee either on here or by e-mailing gallantpioneers@hotmail.co.uk Further details and prices will be released in due course and fans can also make donations via the following link https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...ton_id=5012396 in order to help see everything come to fruition. The story of Rangers is a long and wonderful one – you can play your part in getting it told.
  13. We lost on penalties I think before the mistake was pointed out to the referee.
  14. We only drew with CSKA but it didn't matter as Marseille beat Brugge the same night. At a Q&A with Mark Hateley the other night he said he was approached and asked not to play in Marseille. He refused, of course, but was subsequently sent off against Brugge and didn't play anyway. The ref concerned was subsequently found guilty of taking bribes.
  15. My abiding memory of that night was the torrential rain and getting completely soaked walking to the stadium. I still think about what might (and should) have been that season.
  16. This is just part of the Founders project. The plaque is due to be unveiled at Glasgow Green in September. 17. You stated in the OP that you were counting the last 30-40 years yet the furthest you went back was 25 years (McCoist). You've missed people like John Greig, wee Doddie, Sandy Jardine, Colin Stein, Willie Johnston etc.
  18. Great night was had by all. Don't know how many RM guys were there but Johnny and Billy were sensational and Bomber was a great MC. Mark Hateley told some fantastic stories too.
  19. Looking forward to this. Hope it's a great night with lots of money raised.
  20. Yes but who appointed the amateur to run our club?
  21. The more the merrier. i take it the opening day of the season won't be a "member only" day??? I doubt it mate, but i'll have a word with Contacts when he gets back his holiday and find out all the info. Chnces are we will try and get some of the downstairs to ourselves. You'll have to be early to beat the Ulster Bears.
  22. In addition, we were told that the first team squad would be reduced from 28 to around 18 or 20. So far we have got rid of two so it looks like a lot more will have to go before we can even consider buying anyone.
  23. Guys, maybe the OP has a point and we should embrace this idea. Let's think of some new songs. It's a grand old team to follow, follow You'll never build my gallows Boys of the Derry's Walls The fields of the blue sea of Ibrox Ooh, ahh, up the UDR4 I'm sure there are more out there.
