The thing with Hagi is that would would unquestionably offer more in terms of numbers than Lammers could ever dream of.
That also does not mean he's good enough to be playing for us regularly long term and I'd hope that the manager has a better player in mind to fill the role come January.
I have to admit that when we first signed Hagi and after his inital few games I was really excited. He'd been excellent for Romania in the u21s tournament the previous summer. I thought he was going to be brilliant for us. He's definitely contributed over his time here and the injury was a bad one that clearly set him back. Bit of a shame really.

To be fair to Hagi he has something like 40 goal contributions in 99 games for us. What other midfielder or winger has achieved that in recent years?
It’s actually pretty good for someone who doesn’t tend to play 90 mins every game… nor is he in the team every week and when he is… it’s not always in the same position.
He’s obviously got his limits… he’s not quick and sometimes he’s abit overly keen to make things happen, but he is a useful squad player. Plus at this point he’s most definitely a better option than Wright or Lammers.

Totally agree. Asking Hagi to play RW or as a Scott Arfield type attacking midfielder/false 9 is mental it doesn't suit his pace or his game. But him in a pivotal attacking midfielder role where he pulls the strings is exactly where he would shine.
Him and Cantwell as the 2 in a 4-1-2-3 would be something I'd like to see.
