Everyone at Rangers Football Club is saddened by the news of Kao's passing and we have been in touch with various members of Kao's family and close friends.

The Club has been made aware of Barry's request and also the huge backing of the fans this has gathered.

Via our SLO, Greg Marshall, we have advised the security chiefs at Hampden that our fans will be bringing blue balloons to the stadium to release in tribute to Kao.
This has been agreed by Hampden, on a smallish scale. We would not have been granted permission to organise balloons on the scale needed for every fan attending the game on Sunday to have one.

Due to the match being at a neutral venue and not here at Ibrox, we have no say in matchday activity and we would be unable to organise a mass delivery of balloons at Hampden Park before the match due to this.
All pre-match operational meetings have already taken place and all plans, security and otherwise, are already  in place.

If the match was here at Ibrox, we would have been in a better position to look at organising balloons to help with any fans looking to pay tribute to Kao.

I have been in touch with people close to the family and have organised a letter of condolence from the Club for the family along with inviting them along to Ibrox, at a quiet time, for reflection and to let off a balloon in memory of Kao here privately.

Agreed but we are struggling to make the minimum, when it should’ve been a case of second at a canter if we couldn’t win the league.
Maybe we should be grateful we are actually in a race for second after the board chucked it before Christmas. 
 

If you finish second, you fulfil the potential of the team you have for this season. That is about where they should be. I think they underachieve if they don't do that. Underachievement is failure. It isn't failure, not to win the SPl this year. That would have been a massive over achievement.
 Many a Rangers team have finished second in the league.  Many of those teams had fabulous players.  It is unacceptable, if we are outspending, or on a spending par, with scum, and do not win or go to the wire.  You are right I care about second.
