"We should know on Monday or Tuesday" is a favourite.

Part of me wants to lock this thread until the next official statement comes out.

All that will happen is another thread pop up and other people trying to convince us they have a hotline direct to WS.

Rapid Vienna striker Nikica Jelavic remains hopeful of joining Rangers after revealing he wants to eventually play in the English Premier League.

"The Scottish league is stronger than the Austrian league and Rangers are a great club," said Jelavic in the Daily Record.

I seriously doubt that Jelavic said that to the Daily Record. Last year during Rapid's game against Celtic there have also been many alleged news reports/interviews from Daily Record were afterwards our players said they never talked to any Scottish journalist.

I don't know if he'll go to the Rangers, but I wouldn't trust any newspaper quoted so far. Even the Austrian one (Sportzeitung) is no reliable source.

I hope he stays in Vienna as he is our best striker, but if he comes to Scotland you surely make a good deal with him.

Thanks for signing up mate and letting us know your point of view on the player :)

I would seriously miss him if he will go to Glasgow. He is one of the most complete strikers I`ve ever seen in green-white. He can play in a system with one or two strikers, though I think he is more efficient when he plays alone. He has a good technique, what means that he is able to cover the ball for a long time and nearly every headder means danger.

I can tell you that we do not owe him money and I have no educated guess where the papers get such informations from. Bu I can assure you that this is absolutely not true but don`t ask me what`s the real reason for the delay. You have to know that nobody really wants to sell him, because ther is no need at the moment. On 19 August we`ll play the first leg against Villa at home and I doubt that our management will sell him, because the chances to qualify for the gruop stage will drop.

As I know or last offer was 3,2 mio (Pounds) now, 1 mio after 50 appearances and 25% when he will be sold to another club. But this has been rejected because we want 5 mio Euros now and don`t forget that we have to pay 25% to his former club Zulte Waregem. Can you afford this?

Nothing will happen today, I`m quite sure of that. Jelavic plays today with Croatia against Slovakia and is expected for training in Vienna tomorrow. Then we have to focus on Aston Villa.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

If you say that then it looks like he will probs be out of our reach?

Not entirely sure tho I dont keep upto date as much as others on here.

I can`t guarantee for the told fee, but I seriously doubt that we will sell him under 5 mio strictly net for us. We will have to pay Waregem 25% and and a percentage will certainly go to his manager.

And so far there are no rumors about a new player if Jelavic is leaving.

There are only 2 options: The deal will be done today, or is dead by tomorrow.

Been on a driving lesson, whats happened since 11am :sherlock:

:craphead:

Since this transfer started Israel and Palestine have agreed a peace accord, a replacement for the Forth Road Bridge has been constructed and Atlantis has been discoverd off the coast of Arran - it's governed by a stripey fish going by the name of Nemo.

I reckon they'll play him, if they win, they'll keep him, if they lose we get him but he's cup tied :disappointment:

We wont sign him if he is cup tied.

Really hope not, I'd rather get Goodwillie or Welcome if that was the case, just my theory though that they'll use him to try get through and that's why they've been delaying

Sick of the whole transfer - call it off, move on, and look to other players. Time is running out.

Nothing ever runs smoothly when we are involved, unless it's players leaving.
