Bluepeter9 5,167
I wonder what happens when the manager playes him and we lose ? - Who would be a manager !? I think this is where we miss the reserve league - other teams have no choice but to bring in kids We have more of a choice in our squad and more of an expectation of winning and that is often less conducive to bringing inexperienced players in. hugh_capet 341
I agree, time to play him

RossS1873 1,669
Young, Scottish....no chance. He's Norwegian But I think he's at least due an appearence :Bendiksen:
joker69 60
Handed Ashley Coles arse to him against Chelsea looked good when he came on against Blackpool again impressive tonight.I think he is agreat prospect and seems as thought he is finally getting his injuries behind him.Worth a start no but should definitely be an option from the bench.Really do like him. Blue corn flakes 1,282
Looked a handy we player against Chelsea but his problem is he is a attacking player
cambyloyal 20
He's a good player technically gifted. Seen him a few times from u-19 games pre season would offer more than bedoyaand a few others Time for ally to start picking the team on current form/talent rather than the old Pals act
Amac9 2,060
Let's face it. He won't get a game ahead of McCulloch, Edu or an off form Davis. It seems we would rather move someone like Bartley into midfield than give him a chance. He's in the same situation Jordan McMillan is in. Davie2909 21
We have signed a few CMs in the Summer IMO we should be looking at giving Bendiksen, Hutton, Fleck and Ness a chance ahead of the likes of Bedoya, McCulloch and Edu
rfc1990 1,140
ALLY McCOIST saw Thomas Bendiksen score his first goal for Rangers in Germany - then revealed he is closing in on a new deal with the youngster to keep him at Ibrox. The Norwegian youngster levelled with 20 minutes of tonight's friendly with Hamburg left before the hosts won the game 2-1 in the latter stages. But Bendiksen's strike gave the manager another reason to smile on an evening when his inexperienced side gave a decent showing against one of the Bundesliga's biggest clubs.Bendiksen is out of contract in the summer but Gers have been in negotiations to extend his stay in Glasgow. And with the midfielder happy to remain where he is, McCoist is optimistic an agreement can be struck. He said: "I'm delighted for Thomas after his goal. He's had a lot of problems with injuries and hasn't got as many games as he would have hoped."But hopefully that's him getting there now because he's a great lad and he just wants to play football."He's a terrific trainer and a mean player too so if we can keep him fit and keep him ticking over, hopefully he'll do well for us."We've been talking to Thomas and his agent for the last two or three weeks about a new deal because we're very, very keen to do one with them."There's something on the table and I'm very hopeful, given he is keen to stay, that we can do something there." AGM_72 3,646
Doesn't Bendiksens contract run out in a month? I'm sure it wasn't extended to cover this full season.
Davey_RFC 122
He's got more footballing ability than most of our midfielders put together. Looks extremely comfortable on the ball. Great touch, looks to play a forward pass, keeps the ball, gets forward..
AyeReadyStu 70
Be interesting to see if he gets a new contract, I hope he does...
A.T.G 10,773
I'll repeat:Bendiksen's contract does not expire in January- it expires in June.ProofCan I make it any clearer...Yes we know....At what stage tho is he eligible to sign for other clubs?Thats what I would be worried about if Ally was really keen to sign him
LegendofCoop 17,363
Could someone please confirm what Bendiksens contract situation is please? I thought it ran out in January!?!Great to see him come on and score tonight!
Nicika Jelavic 7
Impressive looks like a highly skilful player with a sweet left foot, saying he's better than Fleck and Bedoya however is a bit far. Someone suggested gig him 20mins, couldn't disagree more get him in from the start and at least give him a half to show us what he can do. The Monk 3,207
McCoist must see him having some sort of future to offer him a contract, can only hope he accepts it.

papaguy51 912
Bendiksen, McCabe, Perry, McMillan....We have some cracking youngsters at Rangers just now, it's just a pity that the management aren't forthcoming in using them over the old guard most of the time. papaguy51 912
The thing is, there does seem to be a criticism that Scottish youngsters aren't particularly great on the ball. When you look at the three boys I've mentioned above (Bendiksen isn't Scottish I know), they are all fantastic with the ball at their feet.We are shooting ourselves in the foot by not using them. It's an odd bit of praise/criticism at the same time.

I am not sure that's not enough youngsters. perhaps to many.
