Serie B next year then.

Might look a good move on paper, but they're in real danger of going down. Signing Kyle Lafferty isn't going to help their cause either. He'll get the chance to play with great players like Miccoli and Ilicic, but they won't be there next year if they go down. He will.

The 26-year-old moved to Ewood Park on a season-long loan last August with a view of earning a permanent deal with the Championship club.

Marco Verratti: Is not going to Roma, according to his agent

PSG midfielder Marco Verratti is not poised to move to Roma in a swap deal with Daniele De Rossi, according to his agent.

Italy international Verratti only moved to the Parc Des Princes last summer in a €12million (£10.2million) deal from Pescara.

Reports in the Italian media suggested the 20-year-old could make a swift move back to Serie A with Roma on-loan until the end of the season, with Giallorossi midfielder De Rossimoving in the other direction.

However, Verratti's agent, Donato Di Campli, has dismissed those rumours, insisting the youngster has a future with Carlo Ancelotti's side.

"There is no truth, Marco stays in Paris, he is untouchable," he told tuttomercatoweb.com.

"I have already said and I repeat it to the umpteenth time. Marco is at the centre of the PSG project, he is playing and surely he will not move in January."

FC Twente chairman Joop Munsterman claims midfielder Leroy Fer's proposed switch to Everton is in the balance.

The Toffees announced on Monday they had agreed an £8.6million fee with Twente and the 23-year-old travelled to Merseyside to finalise the deal.

But medical staff at Goodison Parkapparently raised concerns regarding the player, and Everton have gone back to Twente in an attempt to renegotiate the deal.

Instead of the full fee up front the Premier League side wanted to pay a smaller amount with the remainder dependent on appearances and other factors.

But Munsterman is adamant Twente will not accept the proposed changes.

"Yesterday Everton claimed on their own website they reached an agreement with FC Twente about a transfer of Leroy Fer," said Munsterman.

"Today they started up the negotiations once again. During the day they came with all sort of additional conditions about the payment terms and also the transfer fee.

"We won't deal with that. Then there won't be a transfer.

"We don't play that game at Twente. They can come up with any demand they wish but we're not playing along with their demands."
