EFE AMBROSE had the finger of blame pointed at him for Celtic’s defeat.

Hoops team-mate Kris Commons blasted the Nigerian defender who stepped off a ten-hour flight from South Africa to face the Italians.

Ambrose declared himself fit to start but was culpable at Juve’s opener in two minutes and he had a nightmare match.

Commons said: “Look, the manager picked him.

“He pulled him to one side and asked him if he was feeling okay.

“He said that he was feeling brilliant.

“You know, if he wasn’t feeling okay then he should have said.

“If he felt good then he should have put in a better performance.”

Talking generally about the goals Celtic conceded on the night, Commons blasted: “It was just very sloppy, individual mistakes — something you’d probably get away with on a playground, not in the last 16 of the Champions League.

“There are certain individuals who let the team down tonight.

“In the SPL you can get away with not quite playing. You can get away with just turning up and things happening.

“You can make mistakes and people don’t punish you. At this level you clearly can’t afford to make mistakes.

“If you do you end up coming away from a 3-0 defeat.

“Hopefully this is just a one off. The back four have made errors which have probably cost us the tie in the last 16.

“But it’s partly down to them why we’re here in the first place.

“It’s just a bitter one to swallow, that’s all.

“It’s done and dusted now and we simply need to move on to the next game.

We’ve got to try and get this out our minds and go there in three weeks and get a result.

“I think at 1-0 we’re still in the tie.

“At 2-0 we face an uphill battle but then it’s 3-0 with things not going our way. We didn’t get the penalties, we didn’t get our shots off and the result puts a dampener on the whole event

Easy for him to say, he won't be around next season for them, neither will Hooper etc. Ambrose actually won a major trophy for his country a few days ago. And besides, he talks about the defence costing them. It was actually Ambrose who got into a goal scoring position to score an actual goal, unlike some of the others. So they should look closer to him.

An absolute disgrace for him to publicly humiliate a teammate like that, but classless losing has long been the Septic way. What a fanny.

(tu) I was pissed when we missed out on him and played the "told you so" role for a while after.

Truth is, he's a classless scumbag that deserves to be nowhere near Rangers. He made the right choice chasing the money. Fits right in, they were made for each other.
