Coventry go into liquidation

Recommended Posts

clubs will continue to fall and fifa will do sweet fuck all but help the rich clubs get richer. also notice how the bbc headline it not with coventry to be liquidated but the plc i.e the company. Emphasising yet again that company and club are different altogether which makes even more of a mockery of football journalism in this country

They haven't gone into liquidation, it's just one company. They will get a points deduction and that's all.

The company that holds their FL and FA membership share is about to enter liquidation. That share will have to be transferred to a new company.

Essentially identical to us.

No Europe for them for three seasons (Not really a factor)

Sanctions for transferring the membership share to a new company? probably a 15 point deduction rather than a three tier relegation that we got.

So if they newco will they be voted out of the league? Will the players TUPE over?

The players are supposedly contracted to a separate company.

They will need to transfer their membership shares to a new company but will definitely not be voted out of their league, there will be a meeting of the FL board to determine sanctions (probably 15 points)

we neveer got a 3 tier relegation

Yeah, that was badly worded. We did get refused a league membership transfer, where they have been given one within hours of the decision to liquidate the old company. For a measley 10 points. Remember the uproar from various quarters when it was suggested we should get a 10 point deduction for staying in the SPL?
