Games you played as a boy

Records.

You could only score with a volley or a header and were only allowed two touches to control the ball and pass. If you missed or the keeper caught the ball before it bounced you were in goals.

World Cuppy/ Doubles.

You all know world Cuppy. Doubles was just the same except there were 2 in each team.

Bastard!

Like records but once everyone had been in goals once whoever conceded most goals had to bend over and face a shot from everyone else aiming at their arse.

Annieslanders, played in a close, 2 players opposite ends of the close, started with one player heading the ball trying to score, the other player could either head the ball or volley it before it hit the ground, if you saved it with your hands then you had to head it to start of again.

Great game if there were only two of you or it was pissing of rain, that is till the neighbours got fed up with the noise and chased you out the close.

Happy days.

We had "crossie-in" where crosses were fired in and if first-timed by foot or head past the goalie, they were counted as a goal; if they went over the bar or by the post, the goalie was given a goal. Winner was first to reach ten. We also played "headies" and "heady football" and a game called "muscle-leg" but also know as "granny" where two players would alternately hit the ball of a segment of the wall and if you missed your opponent scored a point. Great times in the 1950's/1960's.

We called it seven and bye, or eleven and bye, depending on how many goals decided the game.
