left winger 14,281
Suarez has apparently signed a new long term contract according to 5live. I can't see him staying for a few more years - maybe signed to get a larger transfer fee when he does leave?
simplythebest 11,453
Thought he'd have held off on something like this to see if they do make the CL this season.
WilliamFyfe 1,438
I had a feeling he'd of went to Bayern or Madrid. Good deal for Liverpool keeping him. Great footballer. If Liverpool finish top 4 this season it'll be some achievement.
Skol 401
Suarez signing a new contract means nothing in terms of him staying longer.Simply means he doubles his wages and his transfer fee will have increased.
wullyRFC 5,230
Liverpool have done well to get that signature. £50M+ transfer fee could be on the cards for them this summer or next.
OLE SUPER WILBERT 2,475
He obviously feels he can get CL football at Liverpool. I think he's right.
Thermopylae 15,287
Suppose when there are clubs with the wealth of Real Madrid around contracts don't really mean too much ... still thought he would have held off until the summer though
simplythebest 11,453
He obviously feels he can get CL football at Liverpool. I think he's right.Eventually he probably will but he's getting into the prime of his career, surely it'll have to be this season?

The Godfather 72,040
Liverpool are a nothing club this is down to them getting a very large fee
Malvern 11,329
Personally with the £160K per week for the rest of this season then rising to £200K per week in the next season I think they have agreed that if Liverpool get the champs League place they will both be happy and reap the rewards, if not then Suarez will be allowed a transfer in Summer with the very large fee Godfather mentioned.£40Mil+£2 is being organised by Arsenal as we type. Goianegra 4,684
I honestly don't think he has any desire to leave if they make the top 4, which at this stage, is looking extremely likely.
Bears&Reds 460
Liverpool are a nothing clubA nothing club lol, thats a strange way to describe one of the biggest clubs in the world.Great news on Suarez, everyone wins the player gets a payrise and a written release clause of £70 million for non English clubs if the club can't offer CL football and the club increase his value for a potential sale down the line. I really can't see him leaving this coming summer.

Creampuff 22,628
Madrid sell Benzema for 25-30 million and put 40 in towards Suarez and he is goneWhy would Liverpool accept an offer that's a full £1 less than they rejected before he signed a new deal? simplythebest 11,453
Why would Liverpool accept an offer that's a full £1 less than they rejected before he signed a new deal?He may add on 40 million to something else
plymouthranger 3,887
Apparently the deal is that he now has a minimum fee release clause, rather than the previous clause which Liverpool could still reject. It's approximately 65million, but it can't be activated until next January at the earliest. Obviously he'll be cup tied for European competition then, so you can assume that the summer after next he'll be at Madrid. In the meantime, Suarez gets a payrise and Liverpool guarantee a good fee, plus the knowledge that their best player won't be leaving for another 12months minimum. Smart move by both parties
