I think cathro will take some time out and wait for first English managerial casualty during the season and then apply for it. People will see the success Alex Neil has achieved and will take a punt on him

Given his lack of experience and the financial ramifications involved with demotion, this could only possibly apply to the latter end of the Championship or League One. I can't imagine a team of a decent stature taking a punt on him in one of football's toughest leagues (the Championship).

won't happen if cathro true to his word about only joining a team before the season starts as he feels he needs a pre-season to get his methods across

Think we are sadly building up our hopes here lads.

Stuart, Kenny and Jig it is then :anguish:

The current board surely aren't that stupid or naive to think that fans will buy into that.

I'm hopeful that warburton or cathro will be manager by Monday.

Never gonna happen, MW would not split up a clearly working relationship.

If given the choice, I'm sure Warbuton would rather have Cathro as his assistant over Dave Weir. Cathro by all accounts has been a huge success in the role of assistant manager over in Spain and his stock is very high. Weir was a cluster fuck as the Sheffield United and the only way he's getting back in to managment is by riding the coattails of Warbuton.

I disagree. Him and Weir are a team.

There's not a chance in hell that Warburton would drop Weir for Cathro. In the interviews I've seen with MW he constantly refers to Weir as having as big an impact on the team as he does.

Other assistant managers can have similar impacts. By all accounts, Cathro has been making big waves in La Liga.
