Looks like he has some aerial presence and doesn't give defenders any space, that's a good sign. Fairly tall and physical, which our front line could use.

Would be cautious about setting expectations too high though. Latvian football is of a very low standard. Some of the teams he's scoring against in those YouTube vids look a baw hair above Sunday league level.

...which is why Im thinking he is potentially a signing for the developement team.

Should be suited to Scotland, the SPFL is like a pub league and the national sides are on 26 places apart in the FIFA rankings

He might be 20, but he has been playing at a slightly lower level. He would have to be "brought up to speed" in some way.. Then again, he might not be signed.

Not sure I agree with the slightly lower level comment.

FK Ventspils, the 2nd team in Latvia, got a 0-0 draw in Malmo during the Champions League qualifiers last year, which is more than the 'Champions' of Scotland got.

It doesnt tell the whole story, though. It was a 'cup' situation. The level is definitely lower.. My brother had a Latvian exchange student living with him and he wasn't exactly praising the football over there.

One of the teams the boy scored against play their home games indoors in what is basically a sports hall. Others have outdoors pitches with virtually no stadium. If the team that Gary Kenneth plays for is regularly winning 5-6 nil then the standard isn't bad, it's terrible.

He's got potential but would have everything to prove over here.

I got an offer for Glasgow Uni, waiting on offers from Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian. Strathclyde is probably my top choice though.

For Power and Mechanical engineering, Strathclyde's probably your best bet.

Don't believe any of that shite they tell you about all the practical work you'll be doing though, thats a load of pish. You'll be memorising close to 40 formulae an exam, and you'll spend half your time at Uni writing reports on shite you may never understand. A good half of your lecturers will be complete arseholes, and you'll be shocked at the amount of posh, overly-sheltered, useless cunts you'll find on your course (although Glasgow Uni is admittedly worse for this). You'll be forced into a shit-tonne of group work with people who have no intention of pulling their weight, and you'll dread being the sorry dickhead who gets to "put it all together" at 4am of the day of the hand-in. 4 hours of sleep will be considered the norm during your exam period, and during that time you'll learn to hate every other prick who lives in the same house as you, because they're making far too much noise for you to fucking concentrate.

The beer at the unions quite cheap though, so it's not all bad.

That's 1 game though

One offs anything can happen - it was only a few years ago we drew with Man U at Old Trafford and Celtic beat Barcelona

I wouldnt really give a shit about football over there either if there were birds like this kicking about all over the shop.
