Wouldn't even say we need to spend big. With some good contacts a million could get you a good striker and centre half.

People instantly want loads spent, but there are players out there who could be great value for money.

Thats the thing mate.

I'm sure Hamilton haven't spent a lot on their squad.

We need a centre half and a striker and we will be sound.

It's pathetic the ones who hate the board the most now seem to be revelling in it today.

I'm still waiting to see someone post "you couldn't make it up".  The same rhetoric you see in the boardroom/financial board

Dodoo may or may not be the answer. But MW stated he was a forward who could play the CF role.

Why then do we persist with KM who will do anything not to be in the no9 position?

Yes we need a new forward and a new CH but we also need to play anyone other than Miller.

King supporters :D

Well you might not be one :) but your post above about boardroom/financial board posters revelling in our pish performance and result is just ridiculous.  If we start playing well without adding the C H I and many on RM think we need I will have no problem saying I was wrong.

I don't hate the board so no idea where you're getting that shite from, King is slowly being shown for a bull shitter though.

So it wasn't the players performance today? It wasn't Warburtons management?

The first blame attributed to anything that happens on here from many are King then Paul Murray (though that's went a bit quieter recently). I'm no king/rst or anything else supporter apart from Rangers, because I can think for myself but the root of it with many on here boils down to anyone having connections with the rst.

No one wants to admit it but that is the truth

Two half decent central defenders needed pronto and they wouldn't cost the earth. We can bring in all the strikers in the world, but with that defence we will drop points big time and ffs, don't tell me that's what JB is there for and Wilson is a player or you should be watching cricket.

Forrester and MOH should defo be given a run.

King was obviously watching a different game from the rest of us:

Quote

Dave King is confident Rangers can mount a credible title challenge to Celtic after watching the Ibrox side make their top-flight return.

The club chairman was back in Glasgow for Saturday's clash with Hamilton and received a huge roar as he unfurled the Ladbrokes Championship flag following last term's promotion triumph.

The South Africa-based businessman was left in no doubt the Light Blues will find it tougher this time after a determined Accies side earned themselves a 1-1 draw in the Ladbrokes Premiership curtain-raiser.

However, King was clear when he outlined his belief that manager Mark Warburton has a squad capable of taking on Brendan Rodgers' Parkhead outfit for the main prize this season.

He told RangersTV: 'Today felt like the club was back, I thought the occasion was fantastic, the energy, the support, the crowd and the buzz.

'Even outside the stadium when I came in about an hour and a quarter before it was absolutely buzzing.

'You could see everybody was just happy to be back in the Premiership and in terms of the result it was a bit disappointing and it took a way a little bit from the occasion, but the most important thing is we're back and competing where we belong.

'This year is about being back in the Premiership and making an increased investment in the squad, which we have done very substantially to make sure we competed this year.

'The objective is to compete for the title this year and then next year to hopefully be back in Europe.

'We will then scale up the investment again so that we are also competitive at the European level.

'I think this team is capable of winning the league. Obviously the resources Celtic have got in their squad are far greater than Rangers but they have resources intended to compete in Europe.

'We are not at that level yet but having said that I do think we can challenge Celtic this season.'

Warburton has signed nine new players this summer but still wants another defender and striker '" and King is happy to oblige his manager.

He added: 'I have been happy with the business we've done over the summer and today was the first chance I had to see some of the new players.

'We obviously have a high level of competence and trust in Mark and (head of recruitment) Frank McParland from last year when they brought in a lot of players and they played well.

'They have been optimistic in the level of business they have been able to do and they have brought in players they think will compete at the level they will have to over the course of the season.

'I would be surprised if we didn't have someone coming in between now and the end of the transfer window.

'There are a couple we are working on and I think we should have some come in before the end of the window.

'We are also keeping our options open for the January transfer window so that we can reassess the position in December, see where we are and if necessary we might also do some business then.'

This board may be well intentioned, but they do not posses the financial muscle to fund a club of our size and expectation and TBH, should have never been near us. Just good old opportunism for a mere pittance and plenty smoke and mirrors.

I expect more wind and pish to follow and then await the best of it on a defeat.

Not a chance mate, some of them love that prick more than the club.

I just can't take to King at all. I've sat and wondered a few times what might have been if he had stepped in b4 shyte "bought" our club?? I honestly think he's glad someone else fucked us over so he could get the club for nowt and look like a saviour. He's not fooling this bear anyway that's for sure.
