His error completely changed the game. At 0-1 up, we were looking like scoring a 2nd, but, after his costly error, that made it 1-1, they always looked.like scoring. We also need to go back to playing 4-3-3, our players aren't good enough to be able to cope with a different formation. Defoe will score goals for us, but would be better as an impact substitute, rather than a starter. We had a winning formation before the break, why change it? Gerrard tinkering screwed us over last night and we are already looking for favours. He was schooled by a more professional and knowledgeable manager. It was clear that the players didn’t suit the system, Kent is wasted inside, we lacked width, missed Candeias and his energy and we were bullied in midfield with the player Gerrard described as an animal sitting in the bench. We just don’t have it in us for the nitty gritty games which are the games that win you the title.
