Out of all the teams dropping out of Champions League, I wouldn't fancy our chances against Man U or Ajax but looking at the rest, we have played tougher teams in the last couple of years.

The only real factor about winning tomorrow is financial despite what Gerrard says.

Can’t wait for the draw. Some really good teams. Only 1 great team though!

As I was writing the post I started to realise there was nothing there to be really afraid of.

Man U the obvious one due to their history but this season it depends which Man U turns up. They look quite ordinary at times.

Good thing IMO. Europa is a much more glamorous competition than it used to be.

Unfortunately it's only glamorous for the teams in it and real football fans.

But for me it's much much better and more entertaining in a football sense, than the  overhyped and  totally predictable Champions League, where all the teams seem to play each other all the time, and only 4 or 5 actually compete and win it. And with pretty much the same top players in the same teams, or just being transferred or swapped around the big teams.

Whereas the Europa pits the teams we don't see all the time on TV, and even relatively  unknowns against each other, and we get to see up and coming players, and so many different styles of football.

Also the Europa league is much, much less commercialised, so you can just sit back and enjoy the game for the games sake.

I would absolutely fancy our chances against Man U, they’re utter garbage

Shame the old Intertoto cup was abandoned in 2008, cause I think on our form  we'd have won it last year and this year.

Fascinating tournament though, which was always too complex. There were even 4 or 5 winners most years.

Not true. Fernandes is one of the best midfielders in the game and despite what some think, Pogba is better than any in our midfield. Cavani can still play at a high level and Rashford is razor sharp. They have others as you know...

They are a step above us.

In saying that, I would love to give them a go.

As individuals aye they are good but as a team they’re rotten considering the talent they have

Salzburg’s UEFA coefficient is much better than Brugge’s. Is there another method for determining seeding?

My understanding it is on their CL group performance. Points earned in this seasons group stage.

I have a match program and a ball signed by all the Deportivo La Coruna squad for an Intertoto Cup game at Newcastle United in 2005(?). Just a useless piece of personal information.

Would rather play them now than any other time tbh, on their day they do show their class but I’ve watched a few of their games this season and they leak goals, how the fuck Llindelof (spell) is a football player never mind a Premier league player is baffling, Shaw and wanbasaka (spell) struggle to defend and DeGai (spell) keeper is a shadow of his self from 2/3 seasons ago

Club coefficients can be misleading anyway. Rangers’ is crap because we got no points for two of the five seasons and we deserved negative points for going out to Progres Nederkorn.
