Shetland Bear 433
Looking at the Seeded/Unseeded teams from the CL dropping down makes it more important to make sure we win and go top tomorrow night. Would fancy our chances against any of those 4 plus avoid Ajax.
bluenoz 30,915
Out of all the teams dropping out of Champions League, I wouldn't fancy our chances against Man U or Ajax but looking at the rest, we have played tougher teams in the last couple of years. The only real factor about winning tomorrow is financial despite what Gerrard says.

As I was writing the post I started to realise there was nothing there to be really afraid of. Man U the obvious one due to their history but this season it depends which Man U turns up. They look quite ordinary at times.

Unfortunately it's only glamorous for the teams in it and real football fans. But for me it's much much better and more entertaining in a football sense, than the overhyped and totally predictable Champions League, where all the teams seem to play each other all the time, and only 4 or 5 actually compete and win it. And with pretty much the same top players in the same teams, or just being transferred or swapped around the big teams. Whereas the Europa pits the teams we don't see all the time on TV, and even relatively unknowns against each other, and we get to see up and coming players, and so many different styles of football. Also the Europa league is much, much less commercialised, so you can just sit back and enjoy the game for the games sake.

tannerall 25,935
Shame the old Intertoto cup was abandoned in 2008, cause I think on our form we'd have won it last year and this year. Fascinating tournament though, which was always too complex. There were even 4 or 5 winners most years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Intertoto_Cup

Fernandes is one of the best midfielders in the game and despite what some think, Pogba is better than any in our midfield. Cavani can still play at a high level and Rashford is razor sharp. They have others as you know... They are a step above us. In saying that, I would love to give them a go.
HuistraHairDo 12,496
A win against Lech Poznan will see us group winners but I don’t think there’s much advantage, we will play a half decent team whoever we get 1st or 2nd it’s all bonus now, priority to the spfl all the way to May!
