We did lose our first two games in Europe last season and I never thought we had any hope of progressing out of the group.

Obviously the standard of opposition this season is far higher and our squad is weaker but hopefully we can turn it around and at least get a few points.

But yes I share the same fear you have, Gio needs to work it out and fast.

In all honesty, these teams are light years ahead.   it will be watching thro the cracks of your fingers.  as much as Gio shouldn't have said it. these teams spend hundreds of millions on there teams.  we have Ross Wilson running around looking free and bargains.

BTW see were linked with Gary Cahill 36 ffs.

were in this comp for the money, uefa cup is our level.

Villarreal made the SF, Benfica QF. Salzburg, Lille and Sporting last 16 last season.

Nobody will convince me that we can't compete to sneak into the last 16 at this level.

We beat Dortmund and Leipzig last season those are CL regulars.

Benfica knocked out a superior Ajax side last year. Ajax and Napoli are not unbeatable especially if we were performing like our run in the knockouts last season.

We were not faves clearly but you're acting like its impossible.

Problem is we're a disgrace lately.

Not sure Bassey would be helping our current predicament.

Just a pity we didn’t spend the money more wisely.

Bassey is playing a different role tonight, but if he was still at us he’d give us the physical presence in defence we are clearly missing. We also miss his runs down the wing.

The two players we bought to replace him have barely played any minutes at all. Absolutely shocking spending.

One of them has had an ill partner for a while supposedly, plus we seemingly overpaid for him. The left back may be a great player but he looks like he will struggle in Scotland. Surely there must have been 2 players for the same price that would come in and do a job immediately.

We have to be at our best and hope the other teams aren't.

We dont perform to our best we could get leathered. Who even knows if Ajax were any good last week?

100% if we perform to our best we're a handful especially at home with our crowd behind us.

Starts tomorrow!!
