Even if he steps up before the half way line and wipes him out. He's just jockeyed him the full length of the park a la Ejaria and Worrall.

Been having a look at him since he became the best right back in the world after his last game.  He’s been pish.

Whilst it's harsh its a pen. Player got to the ball first keeper wiped him out

But then you're just telling the goalie that he can't fail to save the ball in a circumstance like that, cause if he does it's a penalty.

Rule should be something like if the keeper has made a genuine attempt to save a shot and if there's contact with the forward in the follow through it's not regarded as a penalty. Otherwise the goalie is massively hamstrung.

watch the keepers leg, as the argie player chips it passed him, the keepers leg is up and but then is quickly back down when alverez is about to pass him which then impedes the argie players movement from continuing his run and that's how it's a penalty, how none of these cunts in the studio can't see it pretty much speaks volumes.

That's the bit I can't understand. He doesn't just come out to try and block it, he clearly puts his leg out infront of Alverez and impedes him.

It's a blatant penalty.

I think it is a penalty by letter of law, very harsh as what unfolded was not realistically avoidable.

But imo there's little the goalie can do in that situation. Keeper did nothing wrong, he has to be there and he can't magically disappear, but..... gave away a pen.

The contact was definitely the Argentine running into the keeper rather than other way around.
