Bardsley, as shown by the rest of his career, was a decent player but I'm sure he had a fall out with Le Guen after he slide tackled someone in training? theblueoysterbar 19,709
Was there not some story about a mad party in a house in Milngavie that the club had put a few players up in at the time? Neighbours complained about it to the club, guys running about outside in the scud steaming or something like that.
BlueSuedeSambas 54,103
I think Smith would have loved Bardsley if he had still been at the club when he came back. SPWF, J-Maestro, plymouthranger and 1 other

Ironically the person who implemented that type of training at Man Utd was... Walter Smith.
Jamie0202 12,394
The French seem to do well enough on the international stage and their club teams do well enough on the European stage so not so sure that culturally across the board they go easy on tackles in training. For all we know Bardsley got sent home that day for more than just the tackle he's referring to, and that that tackle was just the straw that broke the camels back. Thinking about it I'm sure that more was going on because it's public knowledge that PLG obviously, eventually and completely lost the dressing room; or at least half of it anyway. Other Utd players have talked about how Smith never blew for fouls and allowed people to go in hard just in general, there's never actually been any evidence that he did it specifically for Ronaldo. It's a good story though even if not true.
