John Lundstram

He sold the Jersey.

You just know for a fact the Manager will stand by him and he will be back for the league game before the cup final.

Fucking annoying having a team we have wanted scrapped for years, Managers have been sacked due to them, League titles lost because of them, Cup exits because of them. When will the board turn round and say to a Manager right its time to get rid of these players its just not working. We are burning through money alone sacking managers and bringing in players from different managers who aint fitting the system for a new manager so money is being spent wrongly and poorly.

I dont have my coaching badges and i shouldn't be near a football club but i have 2 fucking eyes and a good brain on me to understand that the club fucking reeks of an attitude problem and a group of players who are clearly not interested or motivated by bringing success to the club and for their own personal gain as a pro footballer.

I would be starting by writing down the key players who have had to many chances and looking to pay them off or a mutual termination or sell on for whatever i could get. If it was nothing then so be it. This club needs a wipe and its a huge gamble but the fans are ready now to see the back of these players. Enough is enough.

I think the manager will stand by Lundstram sadly hoping he will come good again when he first came in. He will be thinking what is the alternative to replace him with the dross we have?

He replaces him with Sterling then who replaces him? Wright who is worse on the right. Our squad is rank rotten but injuries haven't helped him either.

It was never a red card and this incident highlights the problem with VAR in a nutshell.

Joe Hart played a short pass to Johnson and Lundstrum knew he was getting there first.  Johnson recognises that the ball is short and, instead of trying to play the ball (which he would've been second to), he instead attempts to 'shield' it, as a result he places his foot into the path in which Lundstrum is sliding.  It wasn't actually a 'tackle', because Johnson's not in possession of the football.  All Johnson does is put himself into the line of fire of an opponent who's getting in ahead of him.

But, when you find a still image of a set of studs striking someone's ankle then all of the above context is completely lost.  The ref has the full context when he sees it live, he sees it's a player attacking a short pass, he sees the contact and gives it a yellow.  Still images should absolutely not be used, get on with the game.

Hi Kenny, it’s a red card, all day, every day.

All your post highlights is that Lundstram was out of control.

He's dived in studs up at a significant pace and Johnston has time to adjust and shield the ball as any normal footballer would. Lundstram then can't do anything to avoid the challenge because of the way he's committed.

He's hit him high, studs up on the calf, at a high speed. It's a possible leg breaker or something that can do knee ligaments. It's an absolute, textbook, stonewall red card and monumentally stupid. Ticked all the boxes of reckless and endangering the safety of an opponent.

See this is just a nonsense, that ball is short and there to be won, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.  If he doesn't commit to winning that ball when he's obviously getting to it Infront of Johnson, then this forum would be full of people moaning about him being a shite bag, too timid, lack of commitment etc.

There's a growing trend in football of opposition players placing themselves between the ball and a player in motion of playing the ball.

In the Scottish Cup semi final between celtic and Aberdeen there was an incident in extra time where Hoillet stuck his foot between the ball and Carter-Vickers who was booting it clear.  He was never getting the ball, he literally put himself of danger of a serious injury just to try and win a penalty.  You'll see it more and more now, because VAR doesn't understand context, it officiates games via still images.

It's a red card all day long.

Lundstram could have made that attempted tackle without showing his studs.

It checks every box for a red card and if it was Johnston making that tackle on Lundstram, and he didn't get sent off, people would be rightly furious.

His studs are showing because he's about to side-foot the ball.

His studs are showing because he’s a moron who was likely trying to get himself sent off.

Lundstram has no right to win that ball and the only reason he might have is because he’s flying through the air like a fucking absolute rocket. He’s never in a million years making that ball if he doesn’t launch himself

Its a red. It’s a shame it isn’t enough to terminate his contract early. Complete fucking clown

Mate if you're looking for someone to call refs as corrupt cunts then I'm your man.

But it's a clear, deserved red.

Kenny looked like a right fanny on Saturday.

And that's hard being the biggest fanny when you have Sutton next to you, And Lennon in the Studio

Tbf to Lennon he’s actually nowhere near as bad a pundit as I would have expected him to be. He’s pretty balanced with his opinions

Quite ironic that his Rangers career has probably ended the exact same way it started, a stupid red card right before half time that put us right up against it. Think it was in the europa league qualifying.

He was horrendous over in Sweden for the first leg against Malmo.

Then got sent off against Alashkert.

Then never tracked the runner when we got beat off Dundee United to end the league undefeated streak.

I remember him getting subbed on at Ross County, it was the first game with an away section, and the reception he got was so frosty

He was always a baffling signing because he has never been suited to playing in a possession based system.

When I first seen it I didn’t think it was but after seeing it again it is 100% a straight red! He was out of control with the tackle and could have caused a serious  injury
