The Specky Forum Organiser 69,475
High profile with experience of working at the top level of football who clearly wants the job. AGM_72 4,051
The length of time this has taken is ridiculous but I'm pleased we're not hiring Gillespie. He didn't fill me with any confidence. plymouthranger

Guy was a comms director mate and also did the equivalent of what Creag Robertson does for us at the minute, now he runs a football agency I think, he'd be even worse a candidate than Gillespie was for CEO I don't disagree with his comments on the profile of the person we should be looking at though

Obviously I don't know what really makes a great candidate for a football CEO behind the scenes etc but he worked at the FA for 17 years and ended up getting promoted to be their managing director which is a powerful role in football, he's worked for Aston Villa, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest in various roles. Much more impressive CV than someone from Hibs, Hearts or St Mirren. Laudrupsleftfoot, esquire8 and HG5

When he left the FA he had the same job title with them as Stewart Robertson had with us.

To be honest, I haven’t encountered many people who have the mentality to get a job offer like that only to realise it’s too big for them. For the sake of the club, let’s hope it’s true though, because it’s probably the most palatable explanation at this point. HG5
