Yeah, I think giving him a run in his natural position would certainly cement steadier performances. However, based on what he’s done so far (and that’s what I’ve based my opinion on) he is hugely over-rated.

People seem to think getting rid of someone will turn things around. Nothing changes with different personnel when those personnel are poorly set up and not given a shape or style to play to. 

Everyone was desperate to get rid of Goldson and co but were actually worse off on the pitch. Tav shouldn't be captain and shouldn't be relied on near as much but you could put prime Dani Alvez in there and it still wouldn't fix the problem of us being too easy to play through the middle and having absolutely no substance in attack.

Would it fix Tavernier’s problem of giving Celtic, in particular, goals?

He’s been piss poor for months and it’s got fuck all to do with the set up.

Piss poor in GVB’s second season, and slightly better under Beale.

Piss poor under Gerrard in his final season and got dropped for Patterson, improved under GVB, particularly in Europe.

Tav was good in title 55 and the Euro final run.

Respect for that.

He isn't up to standard now, so the manager needs to pick a new captain, a new right back and change our formation and tactics.

Our failures are not down to an individual. They are down to a cowardly board who don't take risks and are happy to win the odd cup.
