I think generally football was poorly attended back then other than the odd ' big ' game . 
It wasn't till Graeme Souness came , where instead of buying the best of Scottish , we'd suddenly be signing the best of British , followed by some of the best in Europe, that attracted all the attention.  The rest of the country then had to keep up . 

Bastard just trying to make a scene so he could go in the huff. He must have been well aware that money had been front-loaded into the squad and there wouldn't be much going on for a few transfer windows.
Said it before, if he can win the league by 25 points and win the Europa group what the fuck was wrong with expecting the same this season off him with the same group of players and a few minor ins and outs. 

With the loses we've posted, no player sales and him fucking up the champions league qualifiers. The board well within rights to limit funds. 
Something has definitely been off this season. I thought it was players who had let 55 go to their heads. It's clear now that it was the management checked out. 
Hopefully new manager can get the team firing again.
As for Gerrard he'll get the investment he wants at villa. But no where near the patience we gave him at times. Run of results like he had post winter breaks and he'll be out on his arse like other Premier league managers.

I can't stand Clarke but to claim he's got nothing to do with it is lunacy.

Unreal performance from Scotland, to a man they were excellent. Fair play to Clarke didn’t think he had it in him, but 23 points out of a possible 30 is tremendous. 

At the time Souness was getting bans rammed up him left right and centre and he did say that Liverpool was a huge draw for him and the only club he would have left for .

Souness left us with Walter and look how that turned out .

It will depend on how it goes with his replacement, we dominated for years after Souness left which is part of the reason hes remembered so fondly,  he also played for us and had many memorable moments.
Gerrard's reputation for myself at least will depend on where we are in a years time and longer, as of now I think hes a slimy cunt.
That said many of our fans have short memories.

I've read the comments Gattuso has said in the past in regards to race, gay and misogyny and they are grossly exaggerated but we live in a woke era and therefore, he would be a huge gamble and probably not worth taking.
His passion for the game is great but Rangers is not the right place for him. He wouldn't last long.

I cannot believe some fans are wishing him luck, ffs we've chased more successful managers out the club in the past, have our standards fallen that fucking much (twitter is awash with fans offering him good luck, thanks for the memories, rangers legend etc) 
 

I'm going to look at this as positively as I can. 
1 trophy (all be it, the most important one) in 3 seasons. Done great in Europe which has increased our reputation again. 
But he's hardly irreplaceable. We've been pretty average this season. Maybe Gerrard himself didn't have the same drive after 55. Players like Barasic, Kamara, Tav, Goldson have been really inconsistent in comparison to last season. 
Big clubs are lucky to get 3 seasons out of a manager nowadays. There is usually a period of success then it fades and someone new is brought in. 
We've been given 3. In far better shape than when he started, got compensation for him. And now we can get someone in with fresh ideas to build upon the last 3 seasons. 
Sad to see him go but I'm not overly gutted. I just hope the board act fast and bring GVB in. 

If what’s reported happens, it’s an excellent chance to have some closure on 55 and refocus. 
 
The current management team and players did exceptionally well last year, with a laser-like focus on achieving one goal and one goal only. But thats been done for over 6 months now and we’ve barely kicked a ball since. 
 
Whoever comes in, has the perfect opportunity to reset everyone’s minds for a new challenge. League cup final, 56, CL all in the space of 8-9 months. 
 
The more I think about it, the current management team have underperformed this season and haven’t been able to refocus the players to the job ahead, rather than looking back at past achievements. 
 
Gerrard made 55 our Everest and delivered it, but he’s struggling to get those players to climb the mountain again. It’s a great opportunity for someone to come in and go for a bigger mountain…
