Normal people going to support a club and watch a sport they love in a day where it was a sport. They never went home that day. God bless their families and help them through the darkest of days. May all the beautiful 66 rest in peace.

They are forever a part of our sacred Ibrox and this will be forever protected as our home .

I got a ticket at the last minute and exited at Edmiston Drive instead of my normal stairway 13.

My mates were on the front page of the Sunday People standing behind the goal.

They were at the back end of the crush and were lucky to survive.

One of the 66 was the boyfriend of a girl in our office building.

It’s hard to believe that we won the ECWC a mere 16 months later.

RIP those who never got home.

My dads cousin George Wilson would have been 62 years old this year. My dad tells me he wasn't even into football that much and had been to see the Morton at Cappielow a few times. My dad also says that George was very timid and when the accident happened he would have just curled up into a ball. When they identified George he only had a small mark above his eye and looked like he was sleeping.

Along with the other 65 souls who went to a game of football and never came home he will be never forgotten.

I was on stairway 13 on that horrendous day with my two mates.

Rab and Ian, if you read this, I'm thinking of you both.

We survived by pure luck but a couple from our bus did not.

We were separated on the way out and my mates were pushed in front of the crush and down the stairs.

I was caught at the tail end of it and somehow managed to crawl back up to the top of the stairs.

Tried to stop the crowd going out but everyone was singing and shouting as we had scored a last minute equaliser and no-one was aware of what was happening till it was too late.

Sad sad day.

RIP

The 66 are an unbroken thread through the heart of our club so much so that for me the win in Barcelona the following year was just as much about those who didn't make it as it was about finally delivering European silverwear to the trophy room. Indeed the will to survive shown in the dark days of the last 5 years only underlines how worth protecting  our golden legacy is and those brave souls who tragically lost their lives 47 years ago yesterday always will be a  very dear part of that
