The closest we can get to it at this moment in time is Steve Clarke who is grossly undervalued but wont be for much longer given the job he's doing at Kilmarnock. Appointing an untried, unproven rookie - an apprentice training manager - to the most important job at the Club is a reckless gamble. A gamble taken by a board that has realised after its supposedly extensive, and very long, recruitment campaign that the great football club Rangers is now so poor that its board is unable to attract and afford anything other than the cheapest in-house option. There is nobody else who is credible that this board can attract or afford. That's the nose and tail of it. As a result they are forced into this almighty gamble. Harry Redknapp has worked for free for some time in his last 3 posts as manager of Birmingham, Jordan and DOF at Derby. Mark Hughes was on 900k a year at Stoke. We paid Pedro 800k IIRC. Neil Warnock I’d hazard an educated guess is probably around 750k considering he just signed a new contract and has stated on occasion that he would never manage in the premier league so it’d look like he’ll be out of work come the summer should Cardiff be promoted.
