BlueDevil 55
They beat us the year before I'm sure...remember a young Buffon at the end taking his goalie top off and he was wearing a superman t-shirt.
Popular Post JamieD 18,940
He won the IFFHS World Goalkeeper of the Year award while playing in Serie B, which is hilarious and amazing, and also something that puts the likes of Steven Naismith to shame. tufts1690 75
Thread is picking up a lot of traction in reddit. A lot of praise from various fan bases coupled with the obvious moaning by the plastics. Archibald Leitch sure knew how to build them. Ibrox is a cauldron of noise and an absolute fortress. bluedylan 11,555
Apparently a factory in his hometown which had employed locals for generations was closing down as it was losing money for years,Buffon stepped in and bought it to protect the jobs ,he stated he knew he would not make money from it but it was important to the town. Not a fair comparison to be fair. Juve only had a single year out the top division. We didn't even have a division at one point. He had just signed a 5yr contract, along with a lot of the other players. I think most would've stayed if it was just a season in the first division. Not defending what he done/said, just pointing out that it's apples and oranges.

Sure, but if you're going to point out the differences in the scenario, Buffon was the best goalkeeper in the world and possibly ever, and a newly crowned world cup winner, and Steven Naismith was Steven Naismith. One did the right thing by his club and reaped the career rewards. One didn't. Fred H Crawford, bluedylan and ForeverAndEver
