But does it take a genius and millions of pounds of an advantage to beat that?

No. Give Mcinnes Gerrards wage/transfer budget and he would make a fool of him.

To do it week in, week out, yeah it kinda does.

There aren't many teams out there that don't have a nightmare playing against a well drilled team with 10 men behind the 18 yard line. if it wasn't such a succesful way to get a result against a better team, then no one would do it.

Better Rangers teams than our current one have tried and failed many times against teams we should be beating.

You don't always win the games you should win, just ask any of our opponents in Europe this year.  We should have lost every one of those games on paper.

It's pennies compared to the money we have spent in the past to win trophies.

The entire team cost us no more than 15m.  It's made up of free transfers, a bunch of players that we paid around a million for, and a couple of players we paid 2 or more million for.  We can realistically only expect to go so far with that team.  It lacks some real quality, a few big signings.

We aren't anywhere near as bad as is being made out.  This is the first time we have lost by ore than a goal all season, we have only lost twice at Ibrox ( to the same team which is really frustrating  )   We are not that far away from a team that can win this league IMO.

Awww fuck off with that shite

We got dominated at home to a piss poor Aberdeen team (built on pennies btw)

We've spent a fortune on players to get put out of every competition by mid March but aye we're making progress

Jesus Christ, win the league...we're a surprise to even finish 2nd!

I was typing out a response very similar to this but you've put it better than I would have.

The league is shit now the standard of player is nowhere like it was when we were winning and the teams beating us are spending nothing, we need investment but it still has to be invested wisely.

Frustrating night all in.

15m wouldn't even make up the cost of the whole division outside the scum...

And domestically we are sitting the same amount of points behind 3rd as we are behind 2nd.  It's all relative.

Plumbed new depths tonight. An abject performance from some of the most spineless, weak minded, weak willed, pathetic, cowardly losers who have every been allowed to disgrace the blue jersey.

We've turned into just another wee team who celebrate one win every few years against the tarriers as if we've won the champions league.

And all presided over by a manager who's only there as a marketing experiment and because he's a club legend for the team our Chairman supports.

The league is as close as it has ever been.

The standard of the lower teams have improved and the standard of both Rangers and cetlic have declined.

Yeah, very frustrating night. Gerrard has a big transfer window ahead of him, because we are lacking in a few areas.

Sooner Gerrard is the fuck out of our club the better, absolutely fucking sick of his tactics and his players (7 signings on the park tongiht) and they're useless

Sooner the cunt is out our club the better, tonight was the final straw, absolutely dominated off a piss poor Aberdeen side.

Anybody who is defending him should have a fucking look at yourself and put the club before a "great" player because that was fucking embarrassing tonight

Blame the ref all you want but tonight is on the manager and the players he signed

That team were dug shite from back to front and you can start with the two who didn't sign in Tav and Mo, who were even bigger dug shite if that was possible.

Aye some need a fucking look at themselves!

What lost games against three shite teams in turmoil, sacking managers, fan and player revolts etc.... geez peace.

Basically Ronny deila and and tranny shagger are geniuses then?

Not having it. A good big team beats a good wee team. Unless the man at the helm isn’t up to the task.

Not in a good way, the standard is as low as it has been this century

Evidence is that Gerrard and his team don't have a plan either

Most teams struggle to break teams like that down. We just need to find the way. It isnt easy and a change in formation, like some suggest, isnt gonna change anything. Passing patterns and run patterns are what the best teams beat the Aberdeens of the World with.

Watch MOTD analysis every Saturday and you'll see the bottom teams try it against the Man city's Liverpool's and they always point out that the player's discipline in closing down is at fault.

The sheep basically flung 9 players behind the ball and used 1 as an out ball, then played spoiling tactics by by committing cheap fouls and hoofing the ball out for throws and up the park plus aided by an incompetent ref.

Those tactics aren't  hard.

They've done it every game and still we don't know how to beat them.

Last paragraph is spot on. The guy has no drive at all standing at the dugout. Looks clueless and is far to weak with players.....

We did not get fucking dominated, did you even watch it?.  You have the neck to say I'm talking shite then come out with that.

That was the most generous 2-0 win you will ever see, they scored with pretty much their only real chances, and we were camped in their final third almost the entire game.

March I said would be a tough month for us we never seem to get any real good runs together to put our inconsistency into perspective Motherwell have won six games on the bounce in the league we have never done that.
